I think one of the biggest ways to prep for an interview is to truly think about and prep some story answers to common interview questions. Recalling stories from your experience is a huge differentiator

Hi Diego, great video, as always. I think that the tip of writing down your answers is great. I have not tried it, but I wonder if you feel at all that the answers come off as rehearsed? If so, has that hindered you at all? Also, did you ever apply to non-FAANG companies? I'd be really interested in hearing your thoughts on how you think the hiring process differs (specifically the interview process).

Hi! As I mention in the video, my goal is not to memorize word by word. After you write things down you realize that there’s a lot of “extra stuff” that we naturally add to our stories. When I practice, I don’t care that I don’t repeat exactly each word, I care about the main points and concepts -> this is what makes you not sound like a robot or rehearsed. It’s about remember the main points of a story that you already wrote and trimmed. As for applying to smaller companies: Yes! And I’ve helped others too. They follow a similar format, but tend to go deeper into the expertise of their industry, if you apply to a payments/fintech startup, you’ll probably get a lot of questions related to the company from a PM perspective: products, trends, new ideas, etc. Let me know if this helps!

@@PMDiegoGranados Yes, this definitely helps. Thank you! On a different note, I do have a suggestion about a topic for a future video - I have found that there's always a round of technical questions during the interview process, but they questions can vary quite a bit. So, it ranges from asking about advantages of a specific software architecture, to 'what is a unit test'. I was fine with the latter, but stumbled on the former. What is your advice on preparing for this portion of the interview? A response here or a future video would be great! Thanks again.

Loving the content so far. These information are really vital and essential for aspiring PM's. At 10:30mins this video, off at the section “Strategy & Root Cause Analysis question” there seems to be a repetition on the diagram “Threat of new entrants” - was that intentional?

Hi Christian, thanks for commenting! And THANK YOU for noticing! it was definitely not intentional 😅 On this video minute 1:31 I have the correct diagram: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qYCXrNSCn5zLorA.html

As always lot of great insights. Do you have any specific advise for someone with Automotive background applying to Tech companies as PM? What pitfalls to watch out for on resume crafting and interviews?

Hi! A few things: 1) Make sure you tailor your resume to the job: kzread.info/head/PLcMv0LrPMqFWWdj8jEm_pmwQUKrnuAnxD 2) Make sure to network with hiring managers: kzread.info/dash/bejne/aIqbzc2ynpubicY.html 3) Have a plan 😉 (Check out the Notion template I created here): bio.link/pmdiegogranados
