Best PM prep channel on KZread! The amount of quality material this guy provides for free of cost is social service. Cheers Diego, keep doing the great work and thank you :)
Diego, you are really doing a great job. All your videos are great to develop a structured and systematic thought process for the interview process. It really helps to keep yourself calm and confident in your responses.

amazing video and so far the most structured way to find a root of an issue. thank you!
Loved your approach towards creating the video. It made so many things clear. Absolute gold!
One of the simplest and best frameworks for solving root cause analysis questions. Your channel is a gold mine for (aspiring) PMs.
Brilliant Video Diego! You explain the concepts so well. So glad I came across your channel
Lot of great comments already covering what I wanted to say. However, your video and sound quality is great. Also, video editing is perfect with the right things(transitions/GIFs etc.,) at the right time. It's subtle but makes your video lot more interactive. Grateful for your work, Diego 😇👌🏻
Wow, Diego. Your method is awesome. I am receiving a lot of value from your examples. Thank you. This helps with the mindset prep for my interviews. It's easier to lock in to what the interviewer is looking for.
Brilliant and yet simple! Thank you 👍
Super helpful framework! Thank you!!

Great stuff!
Great video, thanks! Question: Don't the system factors fall under the category of internal factors? Similarly, out of control can be bucketed into external?
This is one of the best videos that I have seen on Product execution! Thank you

Lol, thanks Henry!! I love video games and board games 😊 thank you for watching and keep me posted on your interviews!
Hi Diego - learn a lot from your videos, just wanted to point out that you missed a super critical internal factor. Poor performance (latency) due to high volumes
Hi Diego! is there a way to incorporate the user behavior into these types of questions?
Hi Diego, great video. I enjoyed your analysis style. I have a question, could you please share a practical approach to define the product success metrics and goals? Many thanks!

I am in the process of creating that video! 😉
How would you prioritize the 4 segments(System, External, Internal, Out of Control)? Would it depend on factors on the product/ industry?
Could you make a video on " how to select right metric for a goal, lets say: to track progress on the discoverability of apps on a play store/ app store" please Ive been trying to find right metric for a platform but couldnt.
Thank you very much Diego. Have you done other videos on Execution about Setting Goals and Roadmapping? I found another one you did on Trade-offs (launching a new product). Thanks!

@@PMDiegoGranados Thanks. I meant to say looking forward to watching some mock interviews on product execution questions on your channel.
For execution questions at FB/Google, What should we expect? RCA questions or "Define Metrics for ....". Do you have a video for the metrics question?, i don't see it on your channel. I really like the concise high level approach you define.

Thank you for asking, Fahim! For FB/Google you can expect any of the two: Root Cause Analysis (this video) or Metric definition. I don't have one for metrics yet, but definitely something I'll work on! I hope this helps
Steps should be: 1) MECE 2) Issue Tree 3) Hypothesis formation 4) Pareto (80/20) - prioritize 5) Top-down ( or bottom-up) analysis 6) Sensitivity analysis (Scenario analysis) 7) communicate the solution in pyramid principle
thanks for the video. How is External factors different from Out of control factors ?
@PMDiegoGranados
2 жыл бұрын
Hi! An external factor is something you have certain degree of control. For example if a competitor announces something, you could quickly respond to it - is something “common”, you expect your competitors to announce things But an out of control like a natural disaster or a change in politics is completely unexpected and your company may or may not have a plan to act on it. These tend to be at a large scale and have a big impact Does this help?

@@PMDiegoGranados Okay sir..& thank you sir
how is "Out of control" different from external? Isn't seasonality "out of your control" as much as political change is?
