hey i actually have some advice if u still need some. 1) u can try spurs, i prefer bumpers 2) you can try an over an under just get them used to it first 3) just what her video said, get a straight stretch where your horse can just open up and i bet they will eventually 4) if your horse still isnt running then you may me giving mixed signals. make sure your feet are saying the same thing as your legs. so put your hands forward and drive them forward with your legs if you need any more help, lmk i have more advice those are just the most common ones. hope this helps!

Have you checked for soreness? Ulcers? Lameness? Poor saddle fit? If the horse is already broke it’s either they are in pain or getting away with to much and they are taking advantage of you

Would this work on a trail when I’m out on solo trail rides asking my horse to run and ask him to run super fast? He’s not very fast in barrels and he has a hard time on the trail picking up a faster pace. If I were to go out every couple weeks and let him good about 20 minutes (the amount of time he is best for getting the run in) every couple weeks do you think it could help him get faster and faster for long distances?

Sounds like that horse had no respect for you as a rider and now you have to gain that:) I would start of with ground work for 2 weeks or so and then go back to the saddle. Remember make the right thing easy and the hard thing hard. Reward when they do what you ask for. It’s a pressure and release way of learning:)

Good tips, thanks! I know this question isn't barrel racing related but I have to ask the best.... So I have a ditch bank at my house and I like to ride on it but my does not, it really hard to explain but when I get her to finally go, she rears up and turns around and takes off for home, some days she won't even go on it and will trot towards it and then turns and goes back. Help!

It sounds like your horse is barn sour, the best way to help break that is to work here at the barn, move her feet. Take her over where she sees her friends and lunge her,are her move her feet, do this when on her back too. Then start to walk away bit not terribly far and give her a break. She'll learn that being with her friends means work and being away from them is okay. Do this multiple times and each time you take her away from her friends go a little further and then let her stand/give her a break. This is what I used for both my horses that were sour and it helped greatly. I hope this works for you! (There's a video on Clinton Andersons YT channel that'll show you what I'm talking about)
