HOW TO get a DATE off of a DATELESS BUFFALO NICKEL by only using 2 HOUSEHOLD INGREDIENTS!
Ойын-сауық
Have you ever wondered what year is that dateless buffalo nickel? This video is one of many ways to find out. I will show you one way to clean a buffalo nickel in hopes of finding a date.
This method will use hydrogen peroxide and household distilled vinegar. This cleans the buffalo nickel and will allow you to see its date even when other methods may have failed.
WARNING: THIS METHOD WILL CHANGE THE APPEARANCE OF YOUR BUFFALO NICKEL. DO NOT TRY THIS METHOD ON HIGH VALUE BUFFALO NICKELS. THIS COULD DEVALUE YOUR BUFFALO NICKEL!

Your method that I tried really worked. My grandmother used to be a coin collector through her child time. I was looking through her 55 year old collection and found a dateless buffalo nickel. I tried to think of anything I’d imagine. I came up with a specialized acid treatment, but later realized that it may destroy the value of those rare coins. So, I found this video, and followed every direction, and got 1915! There was no mint mark, so it was Philadelphia minted. I priced it to be $5! Those dateless buffalo nickels are believed to be at least 90-95 years of age at the youngest and 100-110 years at the most.

All 'Buffalo Nickels' were minted from 1913 - 1938. The Bison on Mound reverse was used only for part of 1913, so they are now 109 years old. The remainder (with Bison on Plain) are between 84 and 109 years old at this time.
Great video! Thanks for the tip, and I love the information about the buffalo nickels
Awesome video. Thank you for sharing.
Very cool history about the buffalo and on the last one I thought I could see a 4 for the last number. Thanks for sharing. 😎👍👍

This works on silver coins too. I soaked some slick silvers I had and discovered that one of them was a 1733 pistareen! Thanks for sharing this.

The mint recessed five cents recognizing that it wore off fast, why in the world didn't they recess the date too at the same time??
Good Video on that technique I have done that with shield nickels too with fair results

+JohnChum Adventures Yes sir!
Hard to destroy value if you don’t know what it is you will end up giving it away or just throwing it into a pile of other coins. Nice tip, I would use it on a detected find that I want to know the date on. If I have a $100 coin and I destroy the value I don’t care as I wasn’t selling it any way. $1000 bucks then I would regret it😁
Excellent video, I enjoyed this one. Ever tried this on the reddish colored nickels we get out of the ground?

I havent tried them with this technique. I would imagine it would work well but be careful! Ive heard this devalues your nickels. Cant remember where I heard that. LOL
Mine have date like you show and have letter said D 1937 but four legs . And we dig it when we’re planting trees . It’s buried so deep I’m going to sale it . Thank you
That blue color reminds me of copper sulfate. Perhaps copper being dissolved out of the .75 copper, .25 nickel alloy of the Five Cent 'Nickel'?
good technique. I knew only the one which uses the product Nic-A-Date.

That is a cool trick. I have 2 or 3 with no dates. But don't want to clean them or ruin the value of the of Nickel that mite not be worth much form the gate. But thx for the tip.

Do You have an E mail address that I can contact you? My 1913 S nickel was brown but I could see the date quite well. After using your method I noticed 2 things: 1. the nickel was very dull to look at and 2. the date on the nickel was harder to read. Any suggestion on how I can restore and improve the date and bring some shine to It?

Hi...i have a coin of a buffalo head nickel but without date..
That coin date acid destroys all value. I suppose it’s ok if a person is curious as to what the date is?
@Mr.Coin1
3 жыл бұрын
Yes and no, if it is a common date then it means nothing just worth about the same as a date less but if it is a rare date such as 1913 S then it will increase the value.
Your last buffalo nickel revealed date was 1928. At least that's what I saw. Thank you for this video and your help! If I do this procedure to reveal the dates, does that mean I cannot sell the nichols?

If you clean coins, you do it at your own risk. Serious coin collectors know cleaned coins when they see them and value those types of coins much less.
How much u buy
Have a standing liberty quarter no date visible. Y'all think it would work on it?
@5280Adventures

I dont believe that this technique would work and I strongly would advise against trying it. An SLQ has significantly higher value, even with no date, compared to a dateless buff. I have plans for future vids on cleaning silver coins so maybe that would help you later on. Stay tuned...
