Seeing is believing, performance ? will it match the 6000 for small gold, will it handle mineralised ground, I hope so. Price, well it shouldn't be too hard to beat the price level of Minelabs PI range, but how much cheaper will it be. A lot of us are waiting for an affordable PI, say under $3000 au we already have machines that excel but are way too costly. The video makes a lot of promises, we will wait and see. Affordable ? is a relative term. I for one hope Nokta can deliver on the hype promised in the video.
Im sure Nokta will make their price point attractive. The performance will be the deciding factor for many people.

I waited for this machine like a little kid waiting for Christmas and this is what Garrett puts out..Minelab will be getting a lot of business from this mid grade tech.

Love watching Below the Plains. I am in Australia 🇦🇺 and found some great places by going to the local libraries. I also seem to get lucky. Driving the original old roads and looking for places people might stop. Ie distance between towns, old trees, old railway ect. Loved this 🫶

Tom is talking about the bottling works re-using the bottles. But if they switched to a new style of bottles, they could re-melt the glass and make new bottles. The raw materials cost money, so recycling glass makes sense.

If I decide to get the Vortex then I will go for the VX9 but I do see the upgrade better than what Nokta is doing.
Without using it I cannot say that the 3 bar graph is all that appealing to me. It's a graphical way to represent the same data that I already have in the tones.
Truth be told, on paper the features ain’t there to compete with the competition. Straight off the get go, there needs to be more customisable features for the user. Lack of tone breaks, and tonal selections aka pitch tone all tones, hardly any allowance of recovery and no mention of an iron bias will limit the detectors performance to a lot of land . Plus Updates needed, or Garrett will become a laughing stock. Detectors with more feature 2 coils Bluetooth head phones and full carbon shaft is what garret are competing with. It is a big ask but expected a lot more at the price points 25khz max frequency on the highest model 🤔 Maybe we have been spoilt As always I will not settle for a Garrett cheerleaders view on the machine. Looking more like a brisk wind to a storm imho Hopefully it will do well, I feel Garrett needs it to do well

Was thinking something similar , not looking great at all , i watched a vid of someone digging out a 4 inch deep button on a hunted out site . Im very sceptical but well have to wait and see

Do you not check for silver coins? 1964 back are silver. Then there are coins that are missing the mint mark in 44 and 36 on pennies which are worth a million. Double strike coins a worth a mint...
Why is there no vibrating handle feature? Even the Xterra Pro and Nokta Score have it. No wireless function on the VX5 is a deal breaker as well.
So disappointed. The “update feature” is meaningless given the overall lack of competitive features. Was hoping this would be something that could compete with the Manticore or Deus ll. Lacking in design, weight, audio, iron bias, wireless capabilities, warranty. Ugh…the hype did not at all match the reveal. Only hope left is that the performance surprises us all.

You know it all boils down to people wanting to know if the target is worth digging or not (ferrous vs. non-ferrous). Just dig everything and you will be pleasantly surprised!

It's muti frequency- which everyone else already has. The graphs indicate amount of ferrous- which Nokta and Minelab already do with their ferrous scales and going by the adjustable iron pitch sounds. This is not the 'new' technology that was promoted, it's just a reworking of existing with more techno babble.
Agreed, and the more time I have been able to listen and digest the large amount of criticsim, the more I became disappointed with the debut. Especially after Garrett’s “Storm” media launch that now seemingly was more hype than reality of a detector that would be a leading new machine. Even at the VX9 level, I don’t see this detector being better than a lower priced Nokta Triple Score or Minlebab Xterra Elite, let alone a Legend, Nox700/900, Manticore or XP Deus II. You would have to spend nearly $1,000 for a Vortex VX9 to get an equivelent gear package you get in the Triple Score and Xterra Elite each of which sell between $500 and $600 complete. And yes, I don’t expect the VX9 to perform any better than those 2 detectors.
Tony, I agree with your statement that this detector is perhaps what the Apex should have been. Other than waterproof construction, the 3 bar display, straight shaft and new color, its an updated Apex. The Apex should have better target ID and and an adjustable recovery speed to help in the junk infested areas. As an Apex owner for the last nearly 4 years, I'm somewhat disappointed. We'll see once the Vx_ is in the hands of users.

I found over 100 bullet casings from 2 times going to this spot in the woods not old casings like during war times but nice but if brass to recycle

Revealed on the 4 year anniversary of White’s memo to it’s dealers, and the three graphs are somewhat like the VX3 freq graphs. They did buy up White’s patents.

Couldn't agree more. The V name the sound of the tones and iron, 3 bars. I was an original whites guy and definitely give it a try. Love my manticore but hey what's another 🤷♂️

I am hoping they are available soon. Thanks for this video! I use to swing the AT Max and was happy with it. The VX9 seems to be a great price as well.
