I agree 100% with your point about working with a recruiter to help you get a job. All the recruiters I've met at career fairs have been super helpful and has increased my chances of getting a job immensely. Good video!

I got so excited when you said you were previously a recreational therapist!! I’m currently a CTRS working in a community based setting and I’m looking into becoming a data analyst. Psychology graduate here and I don’t think it is that much different. Spss is something I had to use for my undergrad and masters. Analysing data is something I had to do all the time. I am sure you have skills from that.

Hello Alex, I'm Raymond from Ghana and I take inspiration from your videos. I'm teaching myself Data Analytics by watching your videos and a few other from other channels. Almost through with Excel now moving to SQL. Great videos

You make the entire journey seem so easy. I have been an English teacher for the past 18 years. I am now trying to switch career and and a friend recommended Tableau instead of nursing. I started with CNA, but I am not really enjoying it. Initally I was relunctant, but I will give it a try. Thank you Alex, these are great resources. I will be back to testify.

I graduated with a Master’s in Exercise Science back in 2017 and have not had much luck with finding work. I am now a Deli Clerk at a local grocery store. When you said cashier, that resonates with me because that is the caliber of job I’ve had since graduating. I’m on the data analytics path and have two portfolio projects and am working on my third. I hope to be a data analyst by 2025!

How are things going for you halfway through 2024

Ever since I found my interest in data analytics I adore you as my mentor. Although I learnt earlier SQL in my graduation but I forgot when I started my career into advertising agency and right now I want to switch to data analytics field which I can do I got that more courage from your videos. Google data analytics more 3 weeks it will need and then I will have my certification. Right now working for advertising company and worked in market research as well and fell in love with data. I have given myself time for an year max to get a job in data analytics field. Hope for the best. And yeah watching all of your videos for thst help. Hi Alex, I started watching your videos today. Very insightful. I realise that I know some of the stuff you're talking about, being from the IT field. But I still need to polish up and get Data Analyst certification, and portfolio, all without a job. So I have to get my hands dirty for the next few months.

This is what I needed to check out and I’m now a subscriber. I’m going through a data analytics course with Google. I’m currently a teacher looking to make a change. I’ve been so interested in data analytics and feel it’s time to change careers.

Alex, as a current physical therapist seeking to transition into data analysis, your story strongly resonated with me. I completed a PhD with an emphasis on statistical analysis using SPSS, R, excel, and tableau. That experience, along with data collection/visualization in my practice (hospital rehabilitation), led me to fall in love with the analysis process. I’m half way through the google analytics certification and hope to transition soon!

@@thomasflii super late on this reply! A couple of months after I initially commented that I actually transitioned into academia, where I have significantly more opportunity for data analysis. However, I've been providing analytics on the side through freelance work.

Hi Alex, thanks for this great video. I just wanted to ask you if you can make a video about project ideas you recommend, it would be great if you talk about datasets we can work on or maybe gathering our own data through web scrapping for example and also focus more on the data cleaning part since I read that it's almost 80% of a DA job.

Hi Alex, thank you so much for sharing these great tips in all your video. I've been watching many of your videos recently and you truly made me feel a lot more inspired. I have one question regarding the sequence of learning SQL -> Tableau/Power BI -> Excel -> Python, would you advise going deeper in each one before moving to the next, or trying to learn the basic for each of them in that sequence before diving deep into one or all of them?

I would say entry level will be fine for your next attempt. When come to a complex project, you will review which aspects you have to learn more about.
