How could you use a rocker step vs off man inside leverage and what are the three important things that you could do to destroy off man inside leverage? And one last thing could you please go over a full video how to beat off man inside leverage that watch the receivers hips I know you have videos about it but could you just make one big video on how to beat it and how to run certain routes vs that coverage that would help a lot

Yeah absolutely- I will post a video on that this upcoming week or the following. A rocker step vs inside shade off man technically is the same technique as using a rocker step in any situation- I like it on outside breaking routes. Let’s say you have to run a corner- DB is inside shade at 8-10yds- you would attack him and throw a rocker step at 8-10 to threaten his leverage then go to the corner

Great vid coach! I’ll be a sophomore qb next yr starting on var but I’m already feeling the pressure and I often overthink while playing. Any advice on how to push that pressure away and just play?

I do. Although I only made it to the D2 level, what worked for me is coming to practice everyday thinking that I’m better and smarter than everyone, teammates, coaches, etc. I really carried a Richard Sherman, jalen Ramsey cocky attitude everywhere I went. Before that, I had really bought into the “family” philosophy that every coach tries to feed you, where all of your teammates are family. The truth is that football is a game full of killers. Even the nicest guys (that are good) secretly want to kill you. Buying into the family attitude will make you soft. So if you openly carry the belief that you are the killer on any field you step on, then you’ll perform much better. Sure, my teammate’s hated me, but there was no doubt that I was the best player on the team, and it helped me win county player of the year. I guess killers get what they want lol.

Honestly just focus on doing your job! Pressure is not real- it’s all mental. So just focus on doing your job each play which is making the right read & being accurate. Whether the end result is positive or negative, move onto the next plau.

Coach I was wondering when the best time is to take the creatine. And how much you should take.

Before you workout I believe, some studies also say after. I think 5G before and then 5G after- that would be best. No more than 10G a day. Here is a CREATINE I recommend, use code “First15” and I’ll get you 15% off aglabs.org/products/agl-creatine

Question: I do plymoterics 2x a week my plyo workouts have a lot of explosive movement and jumping, but have 0 sprinting. So my questions are do the plyos still improve speed or should i add 2 days of sprinting workouts a week for speed on top of the plyometrics. If i should add sprinting workouts do u have any speed/sprinting exercises i can do?

  • @firstdowntraining

I would personally add the two days of sprinting. Would emphasize your running form and mechanics. We have some exercises for that on our website! Here is the info below www.firstdowntraining.com/how-to-get-faster

Yea they improve speed by themselves but you will get faster if you add the sprinting. So you can start with a warmup then 3 20 yard sprints then 2 30s then 2 40s with your plyometrics after that
