"How To" video number 23: Frontside 180 aka FS 180
This trick has been requested since I started making how to videos but I never got around to it because I had made the quick tips about 180s. I decided to finally get a legitimate full how to frontside 180 out there.
I'm sorry if it's not as comprehensive as you'd like, I have been busy with vacation and homework, but I tried to fit this video in real quick!
The main things to take away from this are:
Rotate your shoulders
Shift your weight to your front trucks to roll away correctly
Frontside 180 Quick Tips:
• Quick Tips Ep. 1: Fron...
As always, good luck with this one! You definitely can learn it if you try.
If you need any specific help just leave a comment and I'll try my best to explain things more.
Thank you for watching!

No wonder I've been having problems with this, my back foot position has been wrong, I've been using the normal ollie position!

When he gave the first tip to shift your weight to the front I figured I’d try that out real quick. I did the Ollie while shifting my weight forward and turning my whole body and landed the FS 180 right on that try...
@EthanHofton

Same thing happened to me, after shifting my weight in the 180 it just clicked and landed it in a few more tries. In all my time watching Braille don’t think I’ve heard this tip before
Wow, I really appreciated the way you explained the trick : you didn't only just shown how to do it, you explained how to overcome all the issues that ppl can face while learning this trick. That was really helpful, you've earned a new sub !

It's funny because one day, practing my ollies I accidentally did this and since the day I did it I couldn't get it right but this is a big help right here.

Honestly I’ve been struggling with this trick for so long (couple of months), I have only been able to rotate the board 90 degrees because all Braille said was rotate your shoulders... after watching this video managed to learn this in about 1 hour. Thank you for making this videos they help unreal amounts
"Exagerate the movements until you get used to it" Really important point here guys! (I can do fs180 since forever and this is one of the most important tips for learning bs/fs ollies) Great vid as always!

Ok teacher chill it
Bro this tutorial really helped I thought you popped like an Ollie but you don’t I almost have it. Thanks. I have it on lock now: Dec 2020 😂
Randomly tried it today and landed it in 20mins. Best day ever and I can’t really Ollie btw. You guys got this!
After 10 plus years of not being on a board I decided to try and pick it up again. I loved skating as a kid but was never very good and frontside 180s always eluded me (I thought backsides were easier but they are NOT). Anyways, once I saw how you angle your back foot I was able to get them around! Then I realzied that harder and faster you pop the tail the easier the trick becomes. Now I can get them pretty high and smooth! thanks for all your time man, you really are helping a lot of people!
Anyone else think this guy is the most professional skate teacher? He explains the tricks better than anyone.
I'll start practicing that tomorrow. You make the best tutorials! Thank you!
Dude I've been trying for a few days by just ollieing and turning. Your tutorials have helped me so much man. You're the best!
I'm 32 just getting back into skating after fifteen years of real life, and man I have to say back in my day we didn't have KZread to learn off you learned from watching skate videos or from your friends or people at the park willing to give pointers. Great stuff man 👌👍👍

26 here and just got back into it! Feels good man
This was a massive help thank you!!! You're the first trick tip I watched that mentioned the heelside pocket and push with your bacl foot! I always did just standard Ollie position with my front foot way back behind the bolts rather than more up on the nose! Landed several off a box today! Nice!
Watched your video and got my first fs 180 in the 10 next min. Now working on doing them while rolling.
3 yrs later ur tutorials are still the best thanks for helping me get better at skating bro
landed my first frontside 180 after three days and this is the only video i watched so thank you
Thanks man. It was your video that got me there. In the end it was a clean Ollie and wind up that did it. Only one face plant so far.
This helped me so much! Finally landed a few of these today. Feels good. Thank you!
I just started skating again after a 15 year hiatus. This is the first trick I tried after feeling comfortable and consistent with my ollies and I got this down in about half an hour thanks to this video. Thanks so much, your tutorials are amazing!
your tips are always the most helpful to me! keep doing them!
So going to try that today. Doing a skate challenge for the moment and that's next weeks trick. got one week to land it. Super explanation. Cheers for that.
Great tutorial! Landed my first within 2 days of practice
Bro your tips are very useful, I’m a new skater about 5 weeks in and I landed my first frontside 180 tonight!!🙌🏾 and I’ve been hitting it very consistently after that. Thank you
Thanks to you I landed it in one day, You are truly a good instructor
I like how he really goes into depth on how to do the trick it really helps to understand what your supposed to be doing
BRO AFTER I WATCHED THIS VIDEO I KNEW HOW TO FRONTSIDE 180!!!! SO HAPPY TYSM BRO love you 🥳🥳🥳❤
Been working on shuvs its like all year and finally landed them and got them a bit more consistent and fs 180 is the next trick i wanna learn. :)
Man, I've been doing them like ollies for MONTHS thinking that it's just me misplacing my feet. Thanks man, you've saved me a lot of struggle.
Thank you so much! I learned how to do this on a matter of hours instead of the braille alternative of 8 weeks.
I'd love a varial heel flip video! I can do all of the basics plus some medium tricks (mostly tre flips, big spins, inward heels, back heels and such) but I have absolutely no clue how to form that trick. I think my front shovs suck, not sure. Glad to see you back making those videos, they definitely are worth the wait :)
THAT'S WHAT I WAS MISSING!!! I needed to put my back foot in the heel-side pocket. I love you man.
Before watching you, i couldent ollie and i gave up really fast. But after a couple weeks i saw your video in the "reccomended" I watched tye video 2 times, and i got my first ollie. My progression is all because of you
thank you, i’ve watching this video over and over, as well as others, but i really think that this video helped me learn how to 180. i did like 1 real one yesterday and just did at least ten today, they are not perfect but it’s because of you. i watched a braille video once and it had a different foot position then yours, i tried it but i couldn’t do as well as i did with the position you said to do it in, and that’s how i do it now.(not saying braille is wrong, it’s just if your comfortable) this trick really only took me 4 months, started in August i think, and i’m going to stick with skateboarding because it’s fun. thank you VL skate
this is so much better than braille I can't believe it. thanks bro. really insightful tips that get right at the problems I was having.
Yeah I used to pop straight down then turn my shoulders. That tip really helped me. For some reason I cant do fs 180s but I can bs 180 perfectly

Deagle760 You’re supposed to pop them straight down and do a late 180 if you want to get them high. My first 180s were shuv its body varial, that’s why I can’t do them over anything, so I learned to do it the proper way where you do an ollie 90 then just pivot the rest mid air.
Your tutorials are the basolute best! So much details and so well explained! Thank you so much!!!
Landed a fs 180 in an hour with this, luv u 🖤
this channel is SO underrrated ! luv your vids man keep it up!
This guy has some of the best skate hot to videos out there but let’s not shit on anyone else’s videos guys. They all put a lot of work into them to help skaters progress. VL - thanks for all the vids they’re awesome
Show many ppl make there tutorials so intense, urs is calm and collective thanks
Didn’t know how to do anything until I saw this guide, because of it I landed my first frontside 180 in under 5 minutes thanks man
You’re awesome man . Your tip videos are so great man . Keep up the good work .
Thank you VLSkate I was having trouble landing it, but after my 10th attempt I finally landed it correctly and starting to land it more and more

I like your videos!!! You explain every step in great detail. No many people are good at that...
Been trying to nail my 180s for about a week and couldn't get it. I watched this video and I got it in like three tries. Putting my rear foot in the pocket is what made the difference.
You are the best skateboard youtuber and my favorite!
Great tutorial, I think my problem was foot placement. I was doing the regular ollie pop, which was probably the reason I came to a complete stop after the rotation, this helped, thanks!
Nice Vid this was really helpful I actually landed it a little after I watched the video.
im kind of disappointed that i havent watched your videos when i was young. Im trying to skate again after 5 years and im even having a hard time doing this trick even tho i almost got it when i was young. I love your content, man, keep it up (although this comment is 3 years late)
I'm so excited I landed my first fs 180 now to learn fakie fs 180 now off to bs 180
You give the best tutorials out there
i love the way you explain
my most consistent trick to this day, the only trick besides ollies that I almost never fail
THANK YOU BRO 🙏🙏🙏🙏 I LANDED IT! AT FIRST THE BOARD SLIPPED AND I SKINNED MY WHOLE KNEE, BUT THE NEXT DAY I TRIED IT AND BOOM LANDED ROLLED AWAY SWITCH BUT I DIDNT LAND ON THE FRONT TRUNK IT DID THE FULL 180 WITH A LOW ONE AND STILL ROLLED AWAY🙏🙏🙏
easily the best tutorials... no stone unturned
Thank you. You make very good skate vids.
You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for someone to tell me what I’ve done wrong
Did it 4th try! Thanks man!
I like learning from this guy because he rides regular which is what I ride and he explains stuff good
Great video! You make learning this stuff super easy
Bro because of you I learned it under an hour!!!! Thank you so much

Thanks vl! I finally did a frontside 180 cuz of you 😀
Thank you man you helped me so much with this one!
You broke it down really well!! Thank you
This was so helpful. Thanks!
I wish I checked this out a long time ago. I only ever watched braille's tutorial and all aaron said was it's the same shit as the ollie but just twist your body. I never even had my back foot right. I have the rotation and front foot land on lock, but thanks to this video I figured out my back foot was off this whole time. Imma go skate right now since it gave me a shit ton of motivation on how easy it looks
Best tutorial ever landed it in 1 day
Thank you so much I've been working on this trick and landed it 10 minutes after watching this video
This was a WONDERFUL tutorial. Thank you😁
You're literally a godsend.
Thanks I've been trying to get this trick for a long time
So much better than braille that just tell you to turn your shoulders. Amazing video.
Thx u so much this was the only video that helped me learn 180s
