i just cut them up, put them in individual freezing bags and put them in the freezer. i can easily break them up by slamming the bag on the counter top. lol

The whole point of this video is to show how to freeze fruit so the pieces don’t stick together. I used to freeze them like you do by throwing the fruit all together in the bag but it was always hard to break apart. If you slam the bag on the counter it can cause holes in the bag and allow air to get in which makes the fruit spoil faster. I suppose if you aren’t freezing the fruit for very long and you are using it pretty quickly after freezing it then it’s probably not a big deal., or you could just double bag it but I would much rather have individual pieces. I am glad there is a nice, short video like this to show the right way to do it.

For how long can the fruits be frozen? I know that store bought frozen fruits are picked and then freezed immediately, so anything you buy from market and then freeze is going to lose it's nutritional content. Would love to hear your thoughts on this?

I was told to NOT use a metal knife. If you use a plastic knife evidently they won't turn brown. Never tried it. Also, I've heard lemon juice will prevent the browning

Hi, i do have a question. I tend to freeze lots of fruit ang vegetables, if i have to many but i noticed that overtime they tend to grow more ice. Is there some way to avoid that? Is it better to store them in plastic bags or containers? Thanks in advance.

I don't think there is unfortunately. Even though it's frozen, the fruit will slowly perish over time and release moisture resulting in ice. Both bags and containers do the job and while it is easy to remove air from the bags, containers are more robust and protect the fruit better. It really is a personal preference.

See comments below :) Generally this depends on the fruit but up to 12 months is fine.

So what did you freeze them on? Is that wax paper? After they are frozen you transfer them over into a container and they don't stick?

I freeze them on non stick baking paper. Yes, freezing them this way means they don't stick together. Transfer them quickly into a container and you won't have an issue. The only way they will stick together is if they are allowed to defrost at all. Once that happens, the moisture will make them stick.

Add baking soda as natural preservation.

Peel, Cut into pieces, freeze individual pieces on a lined tray in the freezer and then box them up 👍

Old video, but evergreen info :) You can freeze them for up to 12 months but the quality of some does start to decline. For example, I find bananas are best used within 3-4 months. Berries and stone fruit last well. You can freeze whole bananas, even throw them into the freezer with the skin on for a 'natural' packaging. If you need to cut the whole bananas before using, you will just need to let them thaw a bit. Hope that helps.
