#Stampedconcrete #Concretesidewalk #Everythingaboutconcrete
In this video, I'm showing you how I form a curved concrete sidewalk or walkway. You'll learn what I use for my forms and where to get them.
Forming a curved concrete sidewalk is easy if you have the right forming material and the basic knowledge of how to do forming for concrete.
This video will teach you everything you need to know about building the forms, setting them in place, making sure the curves look good, and setting the forms to grade using a laser level.

Keep up the great job on the videos! Being a novice I enjoy the technical support! I have made a curve using stripes of Masonite siding. They are flexible and cheap!

Nice set-up. Just Fyi cut a board the width of your walkway and use that as a spacer while you our setting the forms it will make a whole lot easier to maintain your width. Instead of having to keep pulling out your measuring tape all the time to make sure you our at the right measurement.

I use 8th inch hardboard for winding and radius sidewalks. It bows a little here and there, but your finishing skills takes that out.

Great video Mike! I use Masonite to round the corners because you can get a pretty tight radius if that's what you're trying to do. I like the idea of PVC trim boards for a long gentle sweep, but I only do concrete work occasionally anymore. I'll keep that in mind if I do a job like that.

Hi Mike so with just using the mag that's ok to stamp without steeling it, I e been using the steel for years and it something you get used to, but buy looking at your finished outcome your work is unreal

Azek board is the ticket. It is expensive but if taken stripped, cleaned and stored properly it works awesome. I've found out we need to put forming pins approximately every 24"-30" apart so the board doesnt lose its shape while pouring and finishing though. That would be my only complaint about Azek. You're jobsite looks awesome! Keep up the great videos and work!! 👍☝️

I’m curious...since I live in upstate NY and it gets very cold in the winter...I saw you use foam under a concrete pad before at the LL Bean. Would you ever use such foam under a curved walkway?

Have them guys cut a two by four the width of the side walk and then set one form to its curve, then use the two by four to keep the distant's all the way down on the other side while screwing and putting the other form in place as they go, instead of using the tape measure over and over and having to check the width. Cuts your time by a third and keeps a precise measurement across the forms, while forming small jobs like this !

We use masonite. I prefer plastic but I am not running the show ;) I like to cut a "keeper", which is a 2x4 the exact width of the side walk, that way after I establish dimension on the house-side form, I just put the keeper perpendicular to the form on the inside and butt my down hill form against that, putting all the stakes in the second form across from the high side stakes. Then I set height on the high side, and just use a level at each stake to establish cross pitch on the low side. It's a fast way to do it, and very hard to fuck up.

I do the exact same thing for public walks. Get the back side up first and set it where you want; duct tape the level on the form and the front side is a piece of cake. 🤙💪

Can’t find the answer to this question anywhere. Pouring a patio with a circle void around a tree at about 3’ diameter. How would I edge this concave curve? Would I use a normal hand edger but tilt it so only the tip is working the concrete?
