How To Flush BMW E46 M3 Brakes With Motive Power Bleeder
You can save yourself some money by doing your own oil changes and while you are at it, you can save even more by flushing your own brakes. This video will show you step by step how I flush my brakes using a fluid extractor and my Motive Power Bleeder. There are multiple ways to flush your brakes, but the way I will show you is an easy one-person job and mess-free.

To release the pressure from the power bleeder, loosen the cap that is on the bleeder itself. Then remove the cap from the master cylinder, it's much easier.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll try that! I need to actually do this again. It’s time for another flush.
One tip: put the old, extracted fluid into the collection bottle and ensure that the straw reaches the bottom. That way, if the flow reverses for whatever reason, the caliper will suck old fluid back in, not air.

Excellent tip! With this bleeder bottle the fluid is always pressurized and flowing so I will open and shut the bleeder and watching that no bubbles or fluid move in reverse. That's one of the cool thing about the bleeder bottles its always pushing it outwards.
Thanks for the upload, have another sticky caliper to rebuild in the coming weeks and I’m going to incorporate this too when I’m doing it. Interesting the US e46 m3’s don’t have drilled discs from factory.

You do it a couple times, its almost faster than an oil change. Thanks for your support!
I noticed in the comments someone said you should depress the clutch between rear bleeding and front. How does the clutch get bled.

with the motive power bleeder you are pressurizing the system so you don't need to press the clutch.
Hey mate, thanks. But how about the ABS bleed?

You can use a INPA to bleed the abs pump, but using the pressure bleeder should work as well and also regularly flushing your brakes as well.
Aren't you supposed to hit the clutch in between the rears and the front? Rear passenger rear driver clutch front passenger front driver's?

No it’s not needed since the motive pressurizes the system. It acts like you are pushing it already. You just pump the motive bleeder to add more psi as you bleed. Thanks!!

If I was doing it with a second person on the pedals, I would do clutch before moving to the front as there is always air stuck behind seals in the master because pedal pushing takes forever and the air almost never moves past the rear seals. But with the motive you don't have that issue as it forces fluid through all parts of the system. The Motive also works better for SMG vehicles that don't have a clutch pedal so you don't have to sit in there changing gears. I do it exactly like he did it here and then every second fluid change, I use INPA in conjunction with the motive. Getting rid of those old worn out brake lines also makes a huge difference.
What if i dont have the pump can i just have someone depress the brake pedal ?
