This video is about Tire Rub Fix on my Tacoma but works on other trucks.
First is to figure out where it's rubbing then working on how to fix it. Most of the time it won't cause any damage but it sure is loud when it happens!!!
If you think about a getting a 285 tire you may need a Cab Mount Chop (CMC) done.

I would have suggested to use a heat gun to soften the plastic and push it in with the head of a hammer or something instead of cutting a small hole like that

I know the vids a year old. But would it rub your tires if you still had the air dam on? I don't want to remove mine going up to 265/75r16.

Wheel width and offset will be contributing factors so it may/may not.
Wouldn’t a leveling kit also fix it?

If you didn't lift with coils you could use an offset leveling kit.

Just keep driving your Found On Road Dead F-150 and keep taking it into the shop. Meanwhile, us Toyota drivers will be getting 300k on the same engine and tranny.

I put on 275 70 R 17 on my 22 Tacoma. The tire when I make tight turns rubs against the control arm on both sides. I was told if I put a one inch spacer to move the tires outward It will rub against the wheel well, what can I do? Thank you.
