How to fix the DJI Mavic Mini gimbal winter & cold weather jello / shake
Ғылым және технология
After a disastrous first and second flight with the new DJI mavic mini drone with horrible gimbal jello and shake I have now solved the issue, watch this video before you fly your mavic mini in the cold winter weather!

Fantastic solution! I'll bear that in mind if temps drop below freezing here in the UK over the winter when I'm flying my Mavic Mini 👍😎⚠️
Great Info. Ran into the same issue Saturday. I will defiantly be letting it cool down next time I fly it first. Thank you for the hopeful solution
Great input! Had my drone crashed and broke two front legs and messed up the sensors, I thought it was the main cause of the really bad jerking gimbal movement. I had it in the shop now for fixing and Imma try declimatize when i get it back. It makes sense, I never had problems last summer. Flying from Ottawa, Ontario.
Hello CANTech Videos, Thank you for sharing your knowledge to remove these unwanted effects. I followed your instructions and I tested it and BINGO smile on my face. Greetings from Quebec Bye.
Answered my questions. 10/10 👍🏼 good videos man
Your cold weather jello jitter fix seems to work for my Fimi X8 as well. Nice!!
Great video , however just a note. If you take a look at where you are taking your temp reading , its just over the gimbal.. that area under the top shell of the mini is a space to allow for the gimbal mechanism to move freely. So in effect you are temp reading the shell and essentially the gimbal mechanism will be the same temp. So this all makes sense. Great Video you have inspired me to test this out on my mini as well. Thank you . Cheers from Waterloo, Ontario Canada
That's a very useful info. THANK YOU
Thank you sooooo much man !! I'll try that out !
Have this issue on the new Mavic 2 Pro, and yes I always took the warm drone outside (-7°C) and it happends, not intense like this but it happens, now I will try this solution
I've had my Mavic Air 2 for several months and have flown it hundreds of times and today for the first time I noticed jello, but after about 2 minutes of flight it mysteriously went away for the remainder of the flight. No idea what caused it since I always fly with an ND filter over the lens, even a clear one for low light conditions to keep debris off the lens. I will say that even before I began using ND filters I never encountered this issue. I hope this is just a one off issue. I wander if somewhere during the first few seconds of flight some debris may have got stuck on one of the props which eventually got flung off during flight. I also considered the possibility of one of the bearings on one of the motors might be going bad. I'm open to ideas if anyone has any. I can say that it was about 45 degrees F. today but I have flown in similar temperatures before without encountering this issue.
Not sure if it's the same issue, but I just flew my mini3 Pro for about 6 flawless flights at -12C, then brought it home and flew it around my house and the 3rd flight suddenly gave me "gimbal motor overload" errors and there was a whole lot of jerking and jiggling (not quite what I'd call jello effect). Strange that I'd get this after flying a lot in cold weather under the same pre-flight and flight conditions and with no errors or jiggly footage.
had jello today but what was strange for me was my first ever flight there was zero jello, 2nd and 3rd had jello, will try again tomorrow
Jello has only one cause, the camera is shaking- period. In most cases, this is caused by unbalanced or damaged propellors. Temp is not a cause!
Thanks for the info. Mines doing it. Had the first flight this morning. I hope this is a firmware issue and easily sorted. I don't think my Mrs will like me storing my drone next to the milk in the fridge.

update the firmare of you drone to 1.0.300, there will be amazing thing to heppen.
It says it is not supposed to fly under 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 Celsius).
Nice video
Not trying to disagree but i had my drone brand new out of a box and flew it on a nice 80 degree day and got jello effect. I was scheduled to send it back after being on the phone and emailing dji when I wrecked it. It barely hit a wall at 2 mph, 3 ft off the ground. It was no big deal except that it dented the plastic ever so slightly making it obvious that I wrecked it so I couldn't return it. Talk about bummed out. I've had it for over a year now and hardly fly it because when I need it the most, there's always something wrong with it. Gimbal overload error, batteries not charging, not logged in or connected in some way, etc.. I just wish I had a fix to the jello effect that started right out of the box. But never have been able to find one.
I need one!! 😩
so basically we can fly mini in sub zero temperatures?

I have been without issue as long as the drone was climatized first
I’m going to try this now. I’ve been at a loss and very upset that my drone was performing like this. If this works I might just have to kiss u bro. Lol
Yeah... So this voids your warranty if you do this and you damage your drone. Just saying.
I've got the same. Yesterday after new update 003 and it was totally stable!! So maybe the firmware 1.0.300 optimized the gimbal stablity when temperature below zero, even dji release note do not refer info for opitmizing gimbal stable ability. You can update the firmware of your drone. May the info can help you.

@@cantechvideos5701 have you try it?
I hope it remains good for you. I fly in Australia which is around 20 Celsius during the day now. This gimbal shake comes up randomly still. I just uploaded an example happened today. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oqp4tLZxg8qpYJM.html
