The problem, for me anyway, is not the top speed in sport mode it's the fact that it slows to half speed in wind in any mode, hope fully they can fix it.

Really disappointed that Autel would misrepresent themselves like this. I jumped from DJI 2 years ago and hearing this is surprising. This drone doesn't speak for the rest of the line-up that Autel has, but I don't blame you. Good luck.

I have just put in a request with PayPal and also have sent 2 emails to Autel in regards to a problem I had flying. I have flown the Nano 3 times since I have had it. On my last flight I went a bit further than I had the first 2 times. I hit RTH to test the function . It ascended to 200 m and then it literally was crawling back at 1 to 2mph. It was somewhat windy, but not overly gusty. Well within the ratings. I removed the RTH, put it in Sport and it accelerated to 5-6mph. I had plenty of battery left but what if I hadn't? Unacceptable from a safety standpoint alone. It took more time than necessary to fly back to me. Again, if I didn't have the battery left it might not have made it at that speed. Is this something others have reported? I know a lot of people have complained about speed but I wouldn't even call this speed. Just plain Dangerous.

be interesting to actually no why autel have back tracked on this is it actually a hardware issue or is it something else that we don't no maybe some new laws ? i no hear in the uk there are new drone laws coming in end of this year weather the 250g drones will have restrictions to flying as well over hear we will have to wait and see

Definitely disappointing but I still like this drone. For now I'll only fly in light winds and hope that autel will figure out how to make improvements.

It appears that the area around the gimbal is too open, unlike the mini2, and is acting like a scoop for the wind. be interesting if someone could put something around the gimbal, obviously you couldn't use the camera, just to test if that makes a difference.

Luckily mine was bought through eBay it’s on its way back to China right now as we speak just hoping the money gets put back in my account very soon when I get the drone. Or should I even call it a drone it’s not even a toy it’s a piece of crap. I cannot believe Captain drone and the review he gave it first out of the box what a pack of lies I have taken him off my list of channels.

Top-Speed is no big problem! But it should reach a nice speed when heading against wind! It’s just a firmware prob - the power would be there…

they stated the top speed wouldn't be increased but they didn't say they wouldn't address wind resistance. perhaps there is hope.

what about the message from Autel saying it was going to be addressed in a future update? weird...and lame.

@@cantechvideos5701 That's quite disappointing, hopefully they re-change their minds and fix the wind resistance issues. Seems like I it goes 13m/sec it could tilt into the wind a couple more degrees and go 15m/sec. I'm holding out hope it's a programming issue or at least they can implement a wind resistance fix. Advertising level 5 and getting level 3 is a let down.

Also, much cheaper drones have better wind resistance so I have a hard time believing it's hardware unless it's an overheating issue in which case it could be a fix where you can't manually go faster but the wind resistance could be increased.

@@techdoc.repair there are 3 things I suspect might be the cause. One is power delivery from the battery, two is lift ability from the props (they are incredibly flimsy) and third is the actual range of the gimbal.

I think you are doom and gloom and jumping the gun. Its not even officially out yet, perhaps just climb back into your DJI geofencing and be happy with that? I think not The M3 is still a disaster area, and some poor suckers paid $5000 to learn that lesson, if I have just one drone that will ;ly when DJI prevents flight due to geofencing its still a great tool to keep in the fleet. Im tired of having a part 107 license, getting ALOFT authorization only to be told by DJI I cant fly there. Check please.

I have a m3 and the mini 2. Dji has been upfront with the firmware path and has now delivered. Autel on the other hand was not forthcoming and changed specs and got caught. They still haven't provided a reason why. Sorry can't compare the two situations
