How to Fix Soap Seizing 🤨 Cold Process Soap Making

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hey Sud Squad! Have you ever gone to make your soap and gotten soap on a stick? If you've been making soap for any length of time, chances are you've experienced this a time or two. Soap seizing occurs when the chemical components in an additive or fragrance cause your soap to trace too quickly. The good news is that there are some ways to get your fragrances or additives to behave so that you can still use them without seizing. In this video I demonstrate soap seizing and then show you how to counteract the effects.
I hope you find this helpful on your soap making journey!

Yes. After countless hours of reading and watching I've learned to do this step if I'm unsure if fragrance accelrates too fast ! With trial and error (t&e) I've learned the hard way believe me! Let me tell ya though ive never ever wasted a batch even if it seized, I just added lots of water and turned it into laundry detergent or rebatched cause dang it soap ingredients cost too much money to throw an unfortunate batch away😊❤ i absolutely am still blown away with your story and im so proud of you!! Thanks!

Hi Joana. Can you still use the soap that siezed? Can you cook it? Thanks

Yes you can, you can rebatch it, which is basically hot process soap. Melt it down in a crock pot, add a little more water, any additives you want to introduce, and quickly remould. No need to throw failed batches away - no way do that. Save it, rebatch it. Very grateful for the whisk tip when using aromas that accelerate fast. Bless ya Soap Gal.

Hi Soap Gal, love this tutorial here thank you. Only one thing though, and sorry if this is a silly question. You said R & D around six times in this video without elaborating. What does this mean, what does that stand for? You got people all over the world watching from different languages and cultures - why the abbreviation, is the phrase too long to say it? Would appreciate the explanation, then this will be jargon-free lesson in soapmaking. Many many blessings. x 1 hour later! Okay got it - research and development, spelt out clearly on another of your videos. Cool!

No problem! Happy to explain. You can also reference "How to R&D your soap bars" This is research and development. I mentioned it here because what I am performing is a test - sometimes you don't always know how your fragrance is going to behave which is why you want to "test" or perform research and development to learn how your recipes behave and test to ensure consistency.

If you watch all the way to the end you can see how to prevent it, but there's really no way to recover it the cold process way after it has seized but you can hot process melt it down. This is why I always recommend doing small test batches before making large batches

Not sure as well but basically your suppose to do a test batch of the fragrance to see how it will react. If you really like it you can try the method she showed.

Seek the Lord Jesus Christ while he may be found everyone. Be Holy as God is Holy everyone.Sin shortens life, because of our sins we are separated from God. Everyone have an expiration date and this world have an expiration date. There is nothing in this world worth going to hellfire for, depart from worldliness everyone. It's NOT about religion/denomination, it's about a relationship with Jesus Christ by praying everyday, reading the Bible everyday, believe the gospel, While you are still alive repent of all of your sins and be born again. Rapture is imminent, do not be left behind. Jesus Christ is coming back everyone, get yourselves ready. This WORLD is TEMPORARY and HEAVEN is PERMANENT, Choose wisely everyone.,
