I escaped having to do shoulder surgery 2 months ago, as I kept doing my external rotations and other exercises for almost 8 months. I was about to give up, when it finally worked (4weeks before surgery). I am now doing strength training again, and I will agree with step #3 (I haven't tried #1 or #2), that correcting the form for each exercise and keeping the arms closer to the body through the range of motion prevents unnecessary injury.

@@Strengthside what is your advice for starting strength training for an obese person? This journey will be long for me 1-3 years and my goal is to be in best shape I’ve ever been in my life. And even better when I was in military avg 215. I am going to goal for 225-250

@@malakhi08 Nice man. Keep it simple and don't overdo it! Stick to 2-3 days per week with basic movements like squats, pushups, hinges, and rows. The results will be in sticking to it for 6 months and not burning out!
Nailed it. Add active stretching neck/shoulder roitine twice a day
No one can beat the Strength Side brothers for their nimbleness.👌🤸♂️

Thanks for the advice fit Jesus
Terrific video, congrats!
Always great content. PT’s have you start with the bands by your side cause it puts the shoulder in a position where there is no impingement or if someone had a labrum tear it’s the best spot to be in. These movements are great for those who need more progression. Not saying it bad or your video is bad cause I think it’s great. Just throwing some background info out there for those who don’t know
Never know where to have my shoulders. Thanks
I've been dealing with some shoulder pain lately so this came at the right time!
Damn, that T-pose got Jesus jacked 💪🏻
External rotation is good, but external rotation is even better
You do simple things but awesome 👍 thanks bro
Missed the most important. Lying face down on an incline bench. Shoulder blades trying to squeeze together. Neck in neutral position. Raising light dumbells up till your elbows are beside your ears. (Superman flying position). Keep initiating scapula squeeze. (Shoulder blades together). Dumbbell Shoulder rotations are rubbish. Face pulls are number 2!!!!
I sprained my rotator cuff and nothing the physical therapist told me has helped. Thank you for this!

@@drytadpole Unfortunately, anything with weights was not good for my shoulder. I did find another physical therapist that was much better at dealing with shoulder pain.
You're so awesome!
Great video on the shoulders! Started them today. My whole body has been abused over 40 years. Every doctor I talked to automatically wants to do surgery! I have neck, bilateral shoulder, bilateral hip, low back(L-4..L-5 & S-1) and nerve damage in my left entire leg with pain.
Commented to save.
I stopped doing cable external rotation after about a year of training it, and moved to the elbow on knee version after seeing Knees Over Toes Guy talking about it. Face pulls have been a bit weird for me, never felt good on my left shoulder which is the problem for me which started on this journey (yes I've been to physio. Whatever dysfunction/impingement is there hasn't been cured...). KOTG said 10% of bodyweight is good to aim for. I'm stoked to kinda be there using 7kg dumbbells, 4x12. Almost ready to move up to 8kg. I do have really under developed traps. My lower traps are more defined since doing Y holds. Now I've discovered prone reverse holds and I can't wait to develop more mid back (yes I train back, lats take over I guess).
Dude, for the longest time i've been trying to figure out the right exercises to fix my right shoulder pain, and THIS was EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you so much for the info!
Great recommendations!

G-spot On!❤❤
U da man my G
Thank you sir.
There is a reason we tell people to do external rotation with the arm in a non elevated way. exercise nr1 increases the chance of impingement issues and/or irritation of the bursa because elevating your arm, weather it's forward or sideways will thighten the structures within the subacromial space.
Thank you!
I'm glad I found you. I appreciate your approach
You have some fantastic advice and I'll be applying some of these techniques into my weight loss journey 😊. Lost 100 pounds in 15 weeks 👈😃👍 and still going strong 💪🙂🤞
Peace Bro, U are looking good!! Keep inspiring!!!
This is my ideal body type. No big exaggeration.
Wear eye protection if you are pulling bands towards your face! My neighbor was doing something similar and the band broke and blinded him.
Thank you so much for this exercise! Really helped with my shoulder problems!❤❤❤
thanks Bro Jesus
I had been feeling pain in my shoulder for a couple of days and today it was really bad. I didn’t want to take the stretching approach. I immediately felt some relief after a few sets of these three exercises ! Thank you for this. Infinitamente :)

I would not have even been able to do this with a weight when I started pt. I do like the support though!! It’s hard to have the awareness needed to do the first exercise when you’ve been compromising with other muscles the whole time.
Hi, bless you; thanks for showing me what I don't know. Looking forward to seeing more of you.
Thank you, Jesus 🙏🏼
Thanks Doc. 👍👍
I love this man 😎
I recently found out that my left side scapula hasn't been tucked in while doing my pushups, which is insane because I just did 1000 pushups on the 26th, im no slouch, yet I'm still learning and growing, trust this beautiful process yall
Thanks bro. I've gone through bursitis of the shoulder 2x. Both times started on the left. Then immediately went to the right once left was able. It's no fun. Right is my dominant side
Been taking some of your suggestions and applying it to my work and I’m noticing positive changes
Thankyou
Him n Josh sound so much alike. Love them both n their tips
love this! love the detail really helps
I've done lots of shoulder work with bands. As an avid snowboarder, I've torn both cuffs over the years - not bad enough for surgery but definitely bad enough to end a season and not have arm mobility for weeks. I love working out the pain though. Hurts like hell to exercise it but over time, got LOTS better. I'm going to put these exercises in my routine. Thanks!
This are really good shoulder strengthening exercices, but only the first exercice keeps shoulder impimgement to the minimum. Doing any of your recommended exercices with an active lesion will most likely worsen the lesion (of course we are talking about most common cause of shoulder pain here, depending on cause everything can canche). Once recovered, as I said, really good exercices, but this might worsen some people injuries.
This is great! I did physical therapy and that was the exact exercise he assigned. Now I have some more tools in the belt!
That‘s a great approach of shoulder stability🙌🙌 Thank you for sharing this with us🙏🙏😊
Stuck with that shoulder always feeling like it’s pulled forward after rotator cuff surgery I can’t get my traps to relax enough to do the rehabilitation adequately …going to give your suggestions a try 🎉
I felt it haha ty
Good stuff
good content.
It's not "better ways", it's ways to improve even further
Awesome 👌
Yes, the PT had me doing those external/internal rotation sets with increasingly difficult bands for a frozen shoulder. But one day something “popped” in my shoulder & I figured there must be a less painful way to help the shoulder. You guys are very helpful! Always good advice.
I have to give this a try!!!
This a great shoulder remedy exercise
This doesn’t apply to me but I always like your channels content. I wish I had brothers like you guys
Amazing
Awesome, needed this will try, nice hair man, I had a head of hair like that when I was a younger man before cancer.
Can’t do push up yet. Video to help before push come into play.
thx....❤
Great video, my man. My first attack k is always thoracic spine mobility, specifically spinal extension, is a huge culprit in shoulder issues. Just try lifting your arm over head with your ribcage or chest tilted downward (like the phone in had position) Then, lift your sternum (chest up/out) arch mid back "Backwards" now try to put arm over head. Should see what I mean
As always great advice
Damn the messiah is jacked.
Perfect timing !
Thanks mate right shoulder is chronically hurting 🙏🏻
I really needed this my shoulder has been so stiff lately. Thank you 🙏🏾
Gr8 stuff

Nice!

Some advice for internal elbow pain in both arms?
can i use this exercises for mild arthritis on shoulder with light weights? excellent videos
Most inportant tip: keep your shoulder in position. Your pain comes from underdeveloped and shortened muscles in your shoulder. To get rid of the pain the muscle needs to be stretched and therefore you have to maintain the "normal" shoulder Position even if you need to concentrate to hold it
Pushups train muscles bench can't and train the rotator cuff very good
Thanks bud!! I really need this. Btw.... you look awesome! Keep up the good work!!
Ive had shoulder pain for years and that has affected me mentally more than physically
Can we get one for wrist injuries
Thanks man, I'll try this
A lot people neglect rear deltoid and focus on pushing muscle that also causes shoulder pain
