Very enjoyable to watch and I don't own an s9

Hi, this is helpful and very interesting to watch. I have a similar problem with my S9 plus. When I open, I can see the first part with Galaxy S9 plus and then it turns black. When I push the power button I can briefly see the phone screen with the date and time then goes black. I am thinking the screen is not the problem. What do you think? Thanks!

It could be the screen faulty, or some back-light circuits are faulty.

great video, thanks for sharing. I've got a Samsung S9+, when I press power button to turn off the screen and turn it back on again immediately (say within 1-2 seconds), the screen will black, but screen touch is working. (I knew it because I can hear click sound when I touch the screen, and I can even open apps buy touching the screen.). To make the screen work again, I need to press the power button to sleep the screen and lock the phone (not power off), wait about 30 seconds, then, i can wake up the phone by power button or fingerprint sensor, and the screen will work as normal. My phone is in good condition, except this problem occurred since last 2 weeks. What could be wrong? How much for a fixing it?

It could be back-light control circuits faulty on motherboard, or screen aging. Fix motherboard would cost about 200 RMB. Or you can replace a new screen in the first place.

hi, i want to try this but i have no tools. ive been cleaning my samsung note 9 with alcohol everytime i come home from the outside, i literally clean it with generous amt of alcohol, and when i charged it, it said detect moisture, this happened a lot of times until green color appeared on my screen. then i accidentally pressed the system update. qfter that incident, few days later, my cp turned black and i could no longer see anything on mh screen, but i can hear ringing and text messages and notifications. what could be the possible problem. i brought it to a cp repaur shop, they told me i need to replace the lcd with frame. your qnswer means a lot. thank you

Hello, my phone fell into a pool yesterday, and the screen was really twitching turning black showing alot of white lines, i tried drying it up under the sun today, and everything seems to be working fine, just that the bottom of my screen isn't responding anymore, please can that be fixed, or I'll still have to replace the screen

Better take down the phone and dry up the parts inside

Hi, so recently i had this problem on my s9. I submerged it in water (pool to be exact). It has been 1 minute submerged then after i got out, i dry it real quick. So things start to be complicated when my screen had this different shades of color depending on what in the display. I even tried changing the wallpaper. I kept it open (my bad) overnight. When i woke up, my phone has this same issue. After an several hours, my phone starts to flicker minimal. But after a minute, it start to look bad. It is still responsive though i can’t see clearly. What could be the problem? Note: Im only 16 and i don’t know a lot of stuff. I just need answer.

Hi, i have this same problem but the LED is off and the phone vibrates on startup, then auto re-boots. I only see low current like under 0.3A then it restarts. Wondering if this chip will fix that or if there is a power or voltage problem somewhere else. Any help is appreciated! Thanks :)

Hi, i have same case here. my phone still receive a call and touch screen still working. i have check and repaired diodes in motherboard (short). how to know that the problem in my display or my IC circuit? because if it's little bit hard and expensive to buy the part during pandemic.

I think you can flash your phone(run system re-installation) instead of just factory reset or force reboot. Normally, we fix the motherboard, not buy a new one, it is very expensive

Hi, my s9 plus is also blacked out. Tried soft rese by holding the powerand volume down button and still not working. Led light is working. When i try connecting it on TV using hdmi cable it show an image but not on the phone. What could be the possible problems? Thank you in advance

The screen might have been faulty, replace the screen. If still not working, then check the display and backlight ICs on motherboard.

Hi My S9 also has black screen. LED indicators work. Volume keys work. Sound works. Screen is responsive at home button area to touch. I also used phone shortcut on black screen and I could hear the numbers on the dial pad (still black screen). I think this is the exactly the same issue ? Do you agree ?

Hello brother, once I put the battery connector in the opposite direction, from now on the phone won't turn on with the battery, it only turns on when the charger is connected and the battery must be removed, what can I do, where is the problem?

Could overuse of the motherboard cause this problem? I have the same problem but with my note 9.

It could. Since overuse will cause the CPU or other parts higher temperature, which might lead to no display.

I went swimming in very salt water with my trusty S9+, taking some water pics and videos, all seemed fine... I was on a trip so could not wash it with fresh water on time and did not dry it properly... I was so confident in the water resistance of my trusty phone that I did not care to use the USB-C plugs and did not bother to at least cover the plug with my finger while swimming. Looked good, but around 24h later the screen went black, while everything else worked OK. At the same time I didn't have an original USB cable with me on vacation, I only had some new "reversible" cable that I did not have time to fully test before going on vacation... So when the phone was powered off and connected to charger with that cable, it always gave me warning vibrations that the water is detected. I could not take it to repair shop while on vacation, I waited until I get home... So my guess was that the rust was starting to take a toll internally and that my phone just went from trusty to rusty... As I could not take it to repair shop, I washed it again with fresh water a few days later (hoping it would wash the salt from the internals), and placed it in a bag of chia seeds (I did not have rice with me). Didn't look like it made a difference. I was charging the phone wirelessly in the meantime. When I finally got home from vacation after a week, getting ready to take it to repair shop, I tried to power it off (while being 100% on wireless charger) by using the "while connected to power source press power key + volume down for 10 seconds" process. But it restarted instead of powering off (it turns out the power source must come from a cable) and this time all of a sudden the screen finally turned on after not working for 7 days! Tried the Samsung DeX, GearVR, charging with original USB cable, everything worked. So not sure what cured it, maybe I have less humid conditions in my home town, maybe washing with fresh water helped, maybe it just needed more time to evaporate... All I know is that Samsung recommends to wash the phone with fresh water as soon as possible if it gets in contact with sea water. So for now, I will continue avoiding the repair shop (I am afraid that opening the phone will impair the water resistance of my phone). I'll make sure next time to use the port plugs when I go swimming in the sea. Hope this comment gives hope to someone that is in the same situation.

@@CINOTechnology Yeah, I would not recommend anyone to put their main phone in either pool or sea water on purpose. Or to wash it under tap water. It might not survive. 7 days without screen on vacation in foreign country was not that fun. Water resistance is there only to save your phone from accidents. Phones are not designed to be used underwater.

So at the end, still use old lcd ???

Hi, it has been a year or more since i drop my phone(s9 +) in bathroom(toilet) as i thought it is water resistant, i washed it and that was where the problem started... After that i could not turn on my phone whatsoever, i put on charge for a long time, it would only show the red light but won't turn on😩... Recently i took my phone to a local repairing shop,and the phone is working, but the problem is the notification light(red) is on continuously and battery backup is only 3 hrs and less whether i use my phone or not. everynight i have to switch off my phone in order to avoid any further problem but tonight i did not turn it off and now it won't turn on, Red light is blinking while charging....what should i do now? please help me out of this... Summary: 1.Notification light is continuously On *red light*. while phone is on. 2. Battery backup( installed a new battery) 3 hrs at max. whether or not in use. 3. sometimes mic does not work during calling. 4.If device turns off due to low battery, it gets difficult to turn the device on again. thank you!

How about when I turn on the phone the lcd color is Pink then after 5secs the backlight off and there's mini horizontal line in upper?

Hi, display problem or motherboard problem : half - half I bet. Almost for sure it is hardware issue. First replace a new screen to check. it is always the way it to fix.

Hello . I am using s9plus and my phone is facing issue . My phones display works fine but suddenly it goes black but i can feel its running inside only display goes black and after some attemp of screen lock and unlock it works fine and after few moment again suddenly it goes black . Hello Brother, I'm from INDIA, Gujarat State & having similar issues with my Samsung Galaxy S9 Phone. There is no display on the screen but the pressing volume up/down buttons produce sound & even it is getting charged. The LED Indicator also shows that fixed red means phone is under charge & when you start the phone, it gives blue led indicator status in a proper manner. I just want to know if the phone is still repairable & if yes, how can I send you along with the approximate repair cost. Please Advise.

Try replacing a screen, or check the display circuit of the motherboard

bro i have an s9+ that got submerged into water after trying to cleaning it it showed some signs of working for a morning i charged it fully then turned it on it worked properly but that afternoon the image kinda got discoloured and the screen turned black again it was perfectly fine so i suspect that the motherboard got hurt because of turning it on while there was some water still inside at first i thought it was the screen but no i believe that the screen is perfectly working so i am asking you what can be the problem ?

Use ANKESI AKS-223-UV here.but any qualified flux is OK.

Cino tech I have the same issue like your facing here but here mobile workshop said me display gone need to change display. my display is black I know but I can unlock my lock code through feeling. same blue light after opening phone. I think all are same your maintenance current. THIS CONDITION WAS ARAISE BECAUSE I DROP MY PHONE ON SWIMING POOL. HELP ME I CANNOT PLAY PUBG. HAHAHA

I took my phone in rain, it worked well even after coming back home. It worked well for 2 hours. After that having same issue, it's blue light indicator is working. Getting sounds of notification + vibrations. But screen not visible. Tried forced restarting but isn't working. Please help.

@@CINOTechnology Nope it hasnt fallen or had water inside. I can go to the recovery and reset the phone but it does the same thing when I go to boot into android.

Is it possible that this problem is due to a faulty screen too and not caused by the mainboard?

Yes, a faulty screen also may cause no display issue.

Hi my s9plus , when I put the brightness at low or high my screen is visible, but if I keep my brightness level at middle, my screen is getting very dim and getting some green black kind off (not able to see any thing) , kindly tell me how to sort this problem

Hi Sainath, would you like to send the phone to repair (mail to CINO Technology ) ? And here are two possible problem you may have on the s9 plus : you have some display controller faulty, A maybe CPU has some problem ; B maybe some small parts from CPU to display controller broken.

I'm also having the same exact problem! If u try enabling always on display, it fixes the problem! But that seems not to be working for me anymore After about three months working

Nothing seems to work. If I cannot get rid of this phone freezing, & screengoing black when I try to pull down the menu, I might as well put it underneath a hammer & buy a new one. Apparently there is no virus on it, but there might as well be.

i have the same problem with note 8 , everything is okay phone boots okay but no image tried new lcd ,changed the chip but still no image,any ideas?

By the number of comments, it appears samsung had a problem with this display chip. My s8 display is dead, while my old 3.5 inch samsung from years ago still works. In the usa, some lawyers should have started a class action lawsuit to deal with the color shifting displays and this chip failing.

I have the same issue due to water damage is it possible just to wash the motherboard using isopropyl alchol and let it dry so that the Display works?

@@pavlosbertzenidis8733 yes i did,my screen went completly black and unresponsive,i had it cleaned and inspected issue was that my light IC had been damaged after replacing it phone worked fine ,however the damage was large best to shut the phone off if water sweeps in, open it up and clean it *it wont dry if you just keep it to dry u must open it and wipe it down*

My Galaxy S9 fell in a swimming pool and it didn’t work after that, i put it in rice for two days and i checked after that, now it is charging and i can fell the vibrating when it is in lock screen, but the display remains black, does that mean that the water has reached the motherboard ??
