Found the solution. Make sure u have 2 controllers, 1 working and the 2nd one is the one who cant sinc. Go to the bluetooth device option on Ps4 delete the malfunction dulshuck 4 controller and DO NOT delete the working one. after u deleted the malfunctioning one press the ps button and the share button on the one that dosent work, wait for the system to recognise the device and connect. Simple but some reason no one explains it

I know this much sound high class but the ps4 been out for what 7 years or m more lol But of you have a second ps4 i unplugged the ps4 that was locked up and not letting controller connect. Controller kept flashing light blue steadily It worked on the other ps4 i come back today day after and it works on the first one so that "reset" controller i guess :)

If the controller starts charging after the reset method does that mean it worked?

For me, the only solution that actually worked was deleting all bluetooth dualshock 4 devices that have been sinced through the bluetooth devices settings in playstation while using a secondary working dualshock 4 controller. I had to go to Bluetooth devices using a secondary working dualshock 4 device. Then, I deleted all the connected dualshock 4 controllers, excluding the one being used. After that I held the malfunctioning dualshock 4 controller's ps plus share button (without a USB connection) until it was in sinc mode. Once in sinc mode, I waited until the dualshock 4 controller shows on the bluetooth devices list. Once it was shown on the bluetooh devices list, I used my functioning dualshock 4 controller to enter that enlisted dualshock, and I pressed the options (select button) connected it from there (wirelessly) and voila it worked. So, the whole issue for me was a system syncing error issue rather than a controller reseting issue. This happened due to the fact that the PS4 controller was connected to a different ps4 system, and after switching back to the previous ps4 console. Reseting the ds4 didn't work. Only removing the sinced controller error and resinking it using a secondary controller worked for me. I hope Sony fixes this sincing error issue, especially for those who don't have a secondary ds4 controller. If this solution didn't work, this means that the battery needs replacement. I forgot to mention that if one doesn't have a second ds4 controller or the second ds4 controller isn't working, they could try using a keyboard, a mouse, a third party controller, a wired controller, or etc. Also, to prevent this from ever happening in the first place, always disconnect your controller through the Playstation bluetooth setting every time you switch from one PS4 system to another PS4 system.

@MorereAsuma good question. Connect the keyboard via USB of the PS4. Use the arrows to move. Press the enter button to enter. The backspace button to exit. Etc. I believe the mouse is meant for the browser. I would personally say that the keyboard is rather more helpful in this case. Basically, go to settings, devices, and Bluetooth devices, press enter for the controller that is incorrectly connected due to an error, and then press the f3 button to open option button, it will ask you to forget, press enter, then system will forget the controller. Then, reset your controller before connecting via USB onto PS4 (optional). Connect USB from PS4 to the controller. Press and / or hold PS button (if I recall) and / or use the wireless usb connection share plus PS button to connect unto the PS4. Btw, I'm using an HP wired keyboard, and it works. I don't truly know if all keyboards are compatible. Give it a try.

Stupid controller. Has been like this for years. Definitely not buying a new one, lol! At least it works fine when connected by USB. I wonder if the x-box controller works better. Really prefer PS controller though...
