How to Fix P2263 fault code on 1.5Dci engine Nissan Qashqai Renault Clio Dacia Sandero Suzuki Jimny

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I will show you how to check and hopefully how to fix the P2263 Turbo boost system check engine light for the 1.5Dci (also knows as K9K) engine as fitted to Nissan Qashqai and many other cars from Nissan, Rnault, Dacia and Suzuki
Often this fault is triggered by a loss of vacuum or boost pressure and so, this video aims to show you the most common areas to check on the engine.
This engine is widely used and can be found in the following cars:
Nissan Cube
Nissan Qashqai
Nissan Micra (III)
Nissan Almera
Nissan Note
Nissan Juke
Dacia Logan
Dacia Sandero
Renault Clio (II)
Renault Kangoo
Renault Thalia
Renault Pulse
Renault Mégane (II)

Thank you sir for sharing your experience. I had the same problem which is P2263..and did my car slower than usual. Which can be very dangerous if somenone drives in motorway. I went to Nissan dealer. They did ECM update and it worked. Kind of software update. I have no idea about it. So far I understood that it may come again.

Hi, there are quite a lot of things on the Qashqai that can cause the P2263 error. As you saw in the video, mine was caused by a small vacuum leak. However, I have heard before that the DPF can cause it, as you have mentioned. Based on what you have written above, it does seem like the DPF is causing your issue but maybe the regen isn't fully cleaning it. There are companies and methods out there to more fully clean your DPF. One to consider is Terraclean. I haven't used them myself but have seem them recommended on forums. You can read about hear: www.terraclean.co.uk/how-terraclean-works.php Hope that helps, Thanks, Phil

Hi...its a longshot BUT....Im having the same issue..checked all the pipes/fittings as per your video. All appear good...the fix... Hi, yes, the fitting on my car was the same, it rotates easily but was very difficult to remove. However, with a bit of perseverance, I did get it to pull out, so I could wrap some PTFE tape around it and pop it back in for a tighter fit and it did fix my problem (code reset and stayed reset). Although an air leak was the problem for me and for a lot of other people, it seems the code covers a wide range of faults. If you look through the comments, some people have been kind enough to report what fixed the problem on their car, so might be worth a look for more ideas. Thanks, Phil

Hi. My problem is very similar. I get the red engine light come up and the same diagnostic code. Difference is that after a while I turn engine off and and restart and all is okay. No engine light and turbo working well. The problem starts always when engine is cold and I go uphill. No power and engine light comes on. After a few minutes I do as above and all okay. I checked all the items you listed and they all seem okay, I even changed the vacuum solenoid. don't know what else I can do. By the way only do local runs and get average 40 mpg. Longer runs get quite a bit more. My garage cleaned out turbo as much as he could without taking it all out. It's a 2007 model. Is there anything else I can check. Thankyou

Hi Colin, Sorry for the very slow reply on this. Looks like you have been very proactive in trying to tackle the issue. You issue does sound very similar to the one I tackled. Just a couple of thoughts: It sounds like you have a leak on the "boost" side. The reason I say this is that under pressure (when going up hill) your turbo will be working hard and the boost pressure will be at the max. Regarding when cold: If you have a small crack, it will be bigger when cold and possibly expand (and close the gap) once hot. The problem could be anywhere on your hoses, or rigid pipes or on the intercooler from the turbo outlet to the engine intake. The intercooler is a potential problem area but thankfully wasn't an issue on the one I worked on. I have never tried this but I have heard that you can spray a soapy solution onto key areas and then have a fiend rev the engine, look for bubbles. You may need to jack up the car and / or remove the front grille to get a good look at the intercooler. I would start at the end caps first on the intrecooler. I hope this info helps!

@@ReviveMyRide Hi thanks for your comments. Since my last message I took the car to a company that use a system called "Terraclean". It pumps thru the fuel system cleaning as it goes. They did a diagnostic check and reckoned the "waste gate" wasn't operating correctly. i.e. the rod which controls opening and closing wasn't moving much. They said the Terraclean may help. So I went ahead with that. Afterwards they indicated it is working a little better but I should give it a good blast, which may help clear the problem. Haven't had chance to do that just yet, but to be honest not too optimistic. I have heard of the soapy solution. And will try that. Do you think the waste gate could be the problem or is that just a red herring? Many thanks Colin

Hi Colin, for some reason, your follow up message isn't appearing here but I have got it on email. You were asking whether the waste gate could be causing the problem. I have seen a few comments that suggest that a waste gate not opening or failing to close properly can cause a similar problem but don't have any experience in this area yet. However, it looks like the waste gate actuator is controlled by a vacuum pipe, so might be worth checking that it is intact and fittings look secure etc. I think you can find some other hits on KZread regarding how to check if the waste gate actuator is working correctly. Looks like it is worth checking.

Any idea what this could be? I've got the 1.5dci engine in the Note (2010), car is sluggish when accelerating hard, especially in 3rd gear. Red engine light then comes on and it won't let me rev it past 3000rpm. I've got these codes: P0380,P0235,P2263

  • @ReviveMyRide

    @ReviveMyRide

    Жыл бұрын

@user-wf3ms3yn5v Hi I'm sure you have looked up the codes? but if not: The first one P0380 is a glow plug fault and unless you only get this problem when the car is cold, I would suggest it isn't the main problem. The second P0235 is an intake manifold pressure sensor that isn't seeing what it things it should (when compared to other sensors). and of course the third code P2263 is the topic of my video, which we know can be caused by a boost leak. So, under hard acceleration, the boost builds and if you have a cracked plastic pipe or split hose, then this is when it is most likely to show up. I would start by tracking all of the hoses and pipes from the turbo, through the intercooler and back to the intake manifold including every small hose or fitting that connects in. If you feel confident to do so (You have enough knowledge to know how to avoid moving parts or hot surfaces), you can have a friend repeatedly rev the car while you "feel" with your hands for a boost leak, I found a leak on a Mercedes just last week using this method. Hope this helps! Thanks, Phil

Hi, It's been a few years since I did this job but I seem to remember that when I removed the small hose fitting from the larger air intake, there was some oil residue inside and that is quite normal. However, it shouldn't be leaking out of the fitting because that would suggest that there is a leak on the fitting. If it is, you can remove it, wrap some PTFE tape around it and push it back in, as per the "pinned" comment at the top of the comments page👆 That might stop the oil residue from escaping. Hope that helps! Thanks, Phil
