    Thank you very much! Just a question, what's the difference between themal pads 1) and 4) in description? Seems like you just used 1) ones (0.5/1/.5/2mm), what are 4) thermal pads used for?

    It’s really just your preference of brand, but you do need different thickness of the thermal pads. If you watch the video, you will see I use different thicknesses because some of the chips are at different heights on the motherboard and have different clearance. But if you buy number 4 that comes with a variety. Those are already pretty much cut and the number one thermal pads are not cut out at all so it’s just your preference because you’ll probably have to do some cutting anyway what I did was just take the old thermal pad and compare the thickness with the new thermal pad and then I would just put it over top of the thermal pad and cut out it’s exact shape. I would suggest number four for the thermal pads. And yes it makes a big difference in the temperature. If you have any questions, just message me on Instagram or re-watch the video as to how to put them on. I hope I answered your questions.

    Replace thermopaste on Honeywell PTM7950 phase-change material is more thermally conductive than the best pastes. And gummy thermal paste Upsiren UX Pro Ultra, Laird 607 or K5 Pro on the vrams and power section because have much better thermal conductivity than most thermopads. Make undervolting CPU and GPU at -100mV or more if it will be stable and reducing the CPU frequency in turbo boost or turn it off completely, so that the clocks of the cores are more stable. There will be less throttling and give more fps, plus it will be quieter, cooler and the laptop will draw fewer watts from the socket.

    I agree with you on the thermal paste and the different gel solutions. They are more expensive, however, but I’ve had good luck with them, but under volting the processor, that is where I disagree, you do not have to gimp your laptop forward to work right. I feel that you should be able to run the processor at its full potential, and the simple, basic steps in my video does enable for this to happen. In fact, what I am stating in this video is that you need to regularly clean and maintain ultrathin, gaming laptops, and also reapply the factory thermal paste and then you should get a huge decrease in thermal temperatures.

    hi, When measuring the first thermal pad you say that it is 1.5mm (min 14:40) and then in the summary you say that it is 2.00mm (min 16:05) I wanted to know if the summary when you say all the measurements of the thermal pads is correct

    Instead of using different thickness (1.5,2.0mm), can i use just the 2.0mm which is the bigger one. Ultimately the pads should be in contact with the heatsink right ? Or will there be pressure created over the ICs. I am asking this becouse I am from India and the products u mentioned is not available here. Here iam unable to find combo packs with both 1.5mm and 2.0 mm which then i have to buy it seperately...😢

  • @Mr_Goody

    @Mr_Goody

    You have a good idea there, but I was trying to be on the safe side and just used the exact thickness but in theory it should not put too much pressure on the heat sink and it should work. The only thing you can do is give it a try and if it will get too hot, it will just shut down and still be OK.

    Thank you for this wonderful and useful explanation. I have a question..Can we change the processor in laptops?

  • @Mr_Goody

    @Mr_Goody

    Жыл бұрын

    The answer is kind of complicated, but simple in the past decade. You were able to change out the processors in most laptops. Since then, a lot of laptops have soldered the processor onto the motherboard, making it non-upgradable, and in some other motherboards, they will have an APU, which means that the video card and the processor is on one chip, and it is soldered on the motherboard. This has become the new normal for this day and age so the odds are 90% you probably can’t, but there is that rare instance where do you might be able to but I doubt it.

    When the heatsink is disassembled, is it essential to replace the thermal paste without replacing the thermal pads?

    @varanuskeeper7564 yes both things are very important to change out but if you can only change one, then change the thermal paste but I would say the thermal paste is a 10 on important to change and the thermal pads are about a nine but if you’re only able to change one, the thermal paste comes first.

    More than likely remember you have to put the right amount of thermal paste and then you must replace a thermal pads with the correct sickness so that it touches the ic ships to the metal on the heat sync so it can absorb the heat and disperse it out of the laptop case.
