    Working on 555D . All beaten upon. Doesn't run. Move no hydraulics. Learning. Your lesson is the best part of purchase. 100% brilliant. The human mind has secrets. You unlocked one of them. Thats why it's brilliant.

    I have a 555C project . A battery pump is your friend to put the hydraulic fluid in the reservoir. Awesome job keep moving forward, 1 step, 1 hour, 1 day. The easiest day was yesterday..

    I have a Ford 555a with the same problem and your approach makes me curious about the main relieve valve, sure enought I took it apart and it was stuck in the open position, cleaned and reassemble it. Cycle the hydro system a few times and it worked. Who knew that valve along would control the loader, backhoe and stabilizers. Thanks for sharing the video.

    So happy to find your channel. I have a “triple nickel” as well and I’m first trying to figure out what year it is. It has to have an interesting story. It looks all factory that started as a yellow loader machine that while in production got upgraded to a loader backhoe. It’s inspiring to see your documentation of tackling the hydraulic system yourself without a fancy at home machine shop. Thank you! 🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸

    Sweet! Let us know if you figure out what the steel shard was. I wonder if it was a tooth off of the old pump. Congradulations on your victory. I have been through all of the hsrd work and struggles you have documented on your channel. The work is never done but man, its tremendously rewarding to build a homested one victory at a time. Keep on dude.

    Thanks for the inspiring words! You’re right every victory is sweet. The shard may have been from back when an outrigger cylinder packing went out. Hard to say.

    Thanks for a very helpful video series. At 49:51, you throttle up and try the hoe and still nothing. At 49:58, you seem to reach down and do something, and blammo, it starts working. What did you do? I don't have a 555, but it seems like you "flipped a switch" so to speak, and it started working. I'm dying to know what you did?

    Glad your "nightmare" is over. Those things are rough to remove and install. Interesting on your 555 pressure goes to the hoe first then loader. On my 310 pressure goes to loader then hoe. But mine has the husco valve body too.

    Planning on doing this on my 555b. I’m thinking that the material inside the hoses may be deteriorating in mine and that’s causing the relief valve to stick open somewhere.

    very difficult to repair without special testing equipment, remove the entire control unit and Uconnect all hoses, its a old control valve depending on your unit could be 6-8 valves, parts are hard to find and setting the correct settings is important, i took a engine puller and removed the entire unit and took it to a hydraulics repair company that deals with this old equipment, i had my entire control valve rebuilt for $400 which was well worth it.

    I'm about to do the same job on my 555C to stop the valves from weeping fluid. Your hoses might reattach easier if you remove the hose guide bar. I am going to change all the cup seals and o-rings plus replace 3 to 4 hydraulic lines that are in less than optimal shape. Thanks so much for the video, I will use some ratchet straps to aid in removal/installation as I also am working solo.

    Did you test the pump pressure at rated RPM

  • @Man-Time

    @Man-Time

    9 ай бұрын

    No testing and no test equipment. Could have saved myself several hundred replacing the pump in the vid before this one if I would have spent a few hundred on a test kit. That’d be a smart move. Course the tach doesn’t work so rated rpm is a crap shoot.
