That's very helpful! I was looking for this kind of info, exactly what I needed. One downside, this is quite pricey, so probably have to do a tedious work for some time. Still quite helpful to see that it is not only that concerned about the harsh sound of the violin in a DAW.

It's pretty impresive, thanks for sharing, but I hear this plugin doesn't get all the harmonics, If u listen to it u still can hear some harsh frequencies. I think the best solution is to get a mic like shure sm57, the other type of mics takes too much information we don't need from the violin

Update on my comment, I gave a shot to soothe, and comparing it to the usual method to soothe harsh frequencies, soothe is better when we listen to the body of sound, the usual method makes body sound weaker but can reduces more frequencies. There are many things to take into account when you record and edit violins, I find it very hard. So... I guess soothe is cool but in order to obtain a better quality record you should a dynamic mic like shure sm57 cuz condenser mics are not made to record this kind of instruments, cuz they collect more information than needed.

Nice demo. FYI, watch Wings of Pegasus where Fil analyzes the use of auto tune by singers.

For people without soothe, the hash range is from 2k-6k :)

всегда поражало, как все эти ребята по большому счету уничтожают тембр инструмента таким образом.
