I did a laptop reset because it was running very slow, but after I did, my hard drive showed as being almost full. It didn't make any sense. I could see all of my folders and the data in them did not add up to all the space that was being used. Followed your instructions about showing hidden files and there it was, a huge 400 gig folder with all the reset data in it. I deleted it and Problem solved! You are awesome!!!

How to check the files and data in each partitions on the hard drive? Because I have 4 healthy recovery partitions and yet my C drive is almost full.

I have a question my pc went from 20 GB to 100 KB what the heck happened

I removed my hard drive from my computer and put it another so that l can copy large files but when l put it back it won't show the files and shows that the space is occupied. How would l fix this problem?

My pc think my external hard drive is a server. When I open it it's empty. In device manager it appear as the hard drive and as a server. Basically there are two device for the them harddrive. When I disconnect the hard drive both icon disapear

Sir i got a question, I work in a company, every time i connect to our VPN, the drive C: is keeps filling up slowly, and after 3 months Drive C: already full, what could be the possible problem and the solution for this, will appreciate your answer.

My issue ended up being, I had to reformat my 2nd SSD. It was saying I had almost 100GB of used space, despite nothing being on it, and there being no partitions. Was a 20 second fix. :D

@@juneutland5067 only found one folder of 40 GB after searching through individual folders after HOURS and then decided to just delete the 40 GB and accept this at least. The stupid thing is not all the folders show you exactly how many GB they hold. I sorted all folders by size and still in one of the "smallest" folders there was the 40 GB folder. So I guess it does not count every type of folder and you really have to open EVERYTHING manually which takes a lot of time. Sorry I cant help. But I guess its either tedious searching or just buying a new drive.

My issue was not covered in this video. I found that I had a backup of windows 7 on my storage drive. The file showed 0 bytes but when I deleted it, it suddenly showed 500GB being deleted. That was my issue. I found out that this is a backup created when upgrading to 10 in case it does not work out. Not sure why this is kept after so much time has passed.

Hi there, thank you for your question! Check if hibernation is enabled, Windows creates a hibernation file which can be quite large. You can disable hibernation to recover this space. Open a Command Prompt as administrator and type: powercfg /h off. Use tools like WinDirStat or TreeSize to visualize the usage of disk space. These tools can help you identify large files or folders that might be taking up space. If none of these work try run a disk check to ensure there are no errors on your SSD. Open Command Prompt as administrator and type: chkdsk /f.

It should've given you an option to scan and repair the drive the next time the pc restarts. That's what it did for me when my predator laptop had an issue with storage stuff

Download and install spaces sniffer software and it would let you know the large size files....that it can be hidden in your computer. But before removing any files just do a research about the file before deleting, you might delete an important files. This method works for me.........

Hi there, thank you for your question! If you cant delete any files to make space for antivirus software try booting into safe Mode with your preinstalled antivirus software and try run it. If internet access remains restricted, download the antivirus software onto a USB drive or external device from another computer and try run it from the usb.Consider using a bootable antivirus rescue disk created on another device or seek professional help if the problem persists. If all else fails you might need to perfrom a factory reset on your computer by make sure to back up all your essential data before hand as a factory reset will erase all data on your computer.

All drives don't show the true storage capacity and can be off by 10%, this is because the only way to get an accurate report on storage is to do a full scan which can take over an hour to do.
