im being 100% honest to god, I always watch these videos and its the same thing "%temp%" "prefetch" but not one has ever talked about the gigantic files. I had 30 gigs left I deleted tons of old video files and files from when I used chrome. I now have 248 gigs worth of storage and Im not even done deleting the files. This is a good guide for clearing up storage. The massive thing I recommend is to invest in external hhd/ssd's as if you're a file horder or just paranoid about your files, it can help to just transfer files to another drive so you don't have have to constantly be deleting files.

It's so insane! For my free space disk, it went from 17GB to 147GB! HUGE RESPECT TO YOU!

just press your windows button and search "disk cleanup", should be the first result

go to the search for your windows type in run then in the run option type cleanmgr it should show the disk clean up

every few months i return to this video its crazy how helpful this is

Timestamps 1. Delete %temp% 2. Delete prefetch 3. Delete temp 4. Disk cleanup 5. Compress drives (Don't use on C drive) 6. Optimize drives (SSD's are only being trimmed so you can use a SSD) 7. Scan ALL drives for errors 8. Settings > Apps > Apps and features (Remove apps you would like) 9. Search gigantic files: File explorer > This PC (Then go to the search bar then type "SIZE:GIGANTIC") Then delete those files 10. Do the same thing but with SIZE:HUGE Both of them will take a long time to load 11. Empty recycle bin 12. Storage sense on and check the first option Keep windows running smoothly then play with the settings Last step: Compare!

Hey Panjno, A good program I use is called "Treesize Free" which basically you select a drive, then it indexes large files and sorts it by size (large files at the top small at the bottom) and it's saved me countless times

I also recommend deleting zip files from your computer that you already extracted if you haven't already. They take up a lot of space for no reason after being extracted, so it is totally recommended to do so. Unless you haven't extracted it yet, find all zip files and delete them. Huge difference.

Obviously make sure to read what the files are and make sure there not any vital Windows OS stuff and or anything you need to keep but personally I had a few games on there that took up a good few gigabytes so I just deleted them or moved them to a hard drive.

@@PigeonPillow exactly. It feels like with every windows update it feels like it gets bigger and bigger by ten gigs and Microsoft has no interest of compressing it or making it any smaller. Recently upgraded to a 500gb SSD and still feels like it’s been eating away at it. Considering doing a wipe and looking at trusted unbolted windows versions to help prevent further issues.

Thank you so much for this video, i managed to gain 282GB of free space after going through this video. The most significant in the gain of free space was the "SIZE:GIGANTIC" and the "SIZE:HUGE" at 8:55 I highly recommend this video as its very effective and efficient in gaining large amounts of space for your laptop/pc

another tip, especially for whom their download folder is huge and you don't want to delete anything: if you have a big hard drive, change the location of your downloads folder in the properties to a new download folder there. it will *at least on win11* also relocate every file automatically to it. it saved up over 100gb on my c drive xD

Did you ever get around to making the CPU overclocking guide? I remember you mentioned something about it in a video no too long ago. A guide on the voltage/frequency curve editor in Afterburner would be great too.

the best for the cpu is to overclock from the bios, from windows usually causes problems, although msi afterburner is dedicated to the gpu, I do not know if you mean the cpu or gpu.

@@cesarisaac3315 obviously I'd be doing it from the bios. It's actually knowing what to do is the mystery. At the minute I'm doing +200 MHz in PBO on a 5600x but Id prefer an all core manual OC.

@@AnabolicSaagAloo It is best that all cores have the same frequency, so you avoid problems. The thing is to gradually increase the speed until you reach a limit, either temperature or voltage, I think for the ryzen 5600x is 95 degrees, although it is better to stay at 85 being at full load, and with a voltage limit of 1.25 to 1.30 V I think you are safe, although it already makes me a little high, if you can overclock before reaching 1.3v, much better.

@@AnabolicSaagAloo I recommend you to install occt, it is a program specialized in making very strong tests to your cpu, gpu, ram or power supply, it is like all in one and is a wonder to make sure that your system is really stable and does not suffer from any bottleneck, either thermal or voltage.

This was a life saver thank you! i was worried at first because some of the steps hardly freed anything for me (i had 400mo out of 213gb free on my SSD) but as i kept going, it helped me finally figure out how to find apps i had no use for, and transfer the rest to my HDD. I got to free 37gb! however for some reason when i checked my pc the next day (aka just now), i saw it got up to 53gb now. I'm not sure why it rose but i wont complain lol

My laptop has been full forever. I could not figure out the best way to clean and delete files without harming my laptop... This video was awesome! I was able to get it down to about 14 gb free by myself before the video. Now it's at 67/228 gb free on the C drive and counting. I did not know about the Huge and Gin. search feature and found 100's of gb of iCloud download data that had 1000's of photos and videos from my iPhone stored on it (I had NO Idea it was there!).
