Dr. Berg talks about how to reduce urination at night.
This problem mostly likely is caused by a blood sugar problem.
Here's what to do:
1. Cut out all sugars.
2. Cut out all snacks
3. Reduce the frequency of eating to 2-3 meals.
4. Add more fat to go longer without eating. Fat does not raise insulin-like sugars and protein.
5. Increase potassium foods - vegetables
6. Increase the B vitamins from nutritional yeast.

For the last 3 years I have been diagnosed with Interstitial cystitis. I have been on Keto - No sugar and no carbohydrates since August 2019. I have noticed a considerable change in nocturnal urination. I went from 18 times x night to 4-2 x night. I was using so much toilet paper and had to nap during the day. When you get up so many times at night you can't possibly have a good and productive life. As soon as i cut down ALL sugar and ALL carbs, I saw some results. I emptied ALL of my cupboards (non keto items) all at once. The best thing I ever did. God Bless Dr. Berg !

I don't eat much sugar BUT the culprit for me was grains. I admit, I love them. Sandwiches, rice, corn tortilla chips, etc. I quit all of them and IMMEDIATELY decreased the number of times I peed at night. I was going at least every 2 hours and day or night, whenever I felt the urge to go, it was so intense I didn't know if I could make it to the bathroom in time. Within a week of NO grains the urgency was completely gone and I was sleeping through the night without needing to get up even once. Sleep is so much better now!

I dealt with this for years and no longer experience it. Yes, it can be caused by diabetes but for me it was anxiety related. If your frequent urination is anxiety related then it will go away once you reduce your anxiety, reduce your stress (including reducing stimulants) and learn to under react and even embrace the symptom. Before I realised that it was anxiety I actually used to worry that it was being caused by diabetes, which made my anxiety worse. I think it is definitely wise though to cut out sugar as it is not good for diabetes or anxiety. I learned about fasting on one of your videos though a few years back and boy does fasting make a difference to your anxiety. Keep up the good work :)

I had Type 2 diabetes mellitus from 2000 to 2015, took pills for the first 8 years injected for the last 7. At the turn-of -the century, a LOT of food products became genetically modified and were mass produced in labs, thus making it nearly impossible to maintain a healthy diet. I take OAB pills, and struggle with sugar issues every day. Dr. Berg, I can't thank you enough.

My brother is in rehab from a stroke due to not controlling his diabetes. So he is on a " carb controlled diet" so what do they bring him... Pancakes, mash potatoes, rolls.. Then he gets a shot of insulin because his blood sugar spikes. Ugh... I'm starting to send him Dr. Bergs videos. I hope he watches them..

After being on keto for a week, I get up less at night and I have dropped around 8 pounds. I however am not getting enough potassium and had to eat a banana to get enough potassium fast to stop my leg cramp. Also drank a cup of milk which had 480 mg of potassium. It helped. Keto works. Just have to monitor your potassium levels. I don't care for avocados, but will be using them somehow in my diet. Thanks for your videos. Very informative.

Number #1 -- I stopped sugar six months ago. I have dropped from 250 to 200 pounds. I drink more water more often during the day. Number #2 -- I drink more water in the 2-3 hours BEFORE I sleep, probably about 24-32 ounces of water. This gives my body the water needed to do it nightly tasks of cleaning the body internally. In the first hour after I awaken I drink 16-24 ounces of water. Result -- I urinate less frequently at night 1-2 times at most. When I do urinate it is a good amount with no strain. I sleep much better with one less hour in bed each night because I am so well-rested.
