Jay H this product isn't magic, and it really doesn't do a good job of solving any real problems. Most of the time when a problem like this exists, it isn't from a "bent hinge" or a hinge being "sprung". The problem with this is, if indeed the hinge is bent, all it does is bend it back.... do you really believe it will not just bend back again, and fairly quickly. This isn't a true fix. Most of the time, the hinges are not bent...and now this tool will just damage and bend a perfectly fine hinge. It's a very specific tool that only provides a temporary solution to a problem that normally is caused by something else.

My only critique is that 99.9% of the time I can solve this problem with a single 3 1/2" x screw in the top hinge, and it fixes the problem without bending or damaging the hinge.

I tried your fix first. I had to adjust. It was not avoidable.

I use these on every door I touch. Be sure to tighten the screws first and use the crescent wrench when possible. Short screws will pull out a little from the door or frame or both before straightening the hinge. Other than that its like voodoo, the magic that it works.

How long does this last as a fix? May I ask what you charge per door? I've been using a modified crescent wrench and charging $10. From the way you're talking, I'm going to guess you charge $20? My usual snag for things like this is justifying the cost of the job VS the customer buying and mounting new hardware. People can be very quick to make a hobby of yelling 'ripoff' from the rooftops. I haven't personally had anyone do that yet, but I've witnessed it happening with other tradesmen. Thanks for the video ☺️

Why is it that you only adjust the top hinge?? Just curious haven't done much of this on the job.

I'm not a carpenter; however, I dismounted, sanded and painted 15 doors in my home and also spray painted the hinges to make it all look new. The top hinges needed adjustment because over time the weight of the doors apparently impacted the top hinge most perhaps due to gravity laws and with the top hinge being furthest from the earth. Who knows really? In any case I used washers and very thin coins to help overcome the out-of-square nature of the doors. All doors now open and close without touching the jambs. I don't know how professionals would do the job. I don't like bending hinges because I will have to remember which hinges must return to which door and in which of three positions on the exact door. I want all hinges to remain undisturbed physically and universally applicable to any door/position.
