Having Penn problems? In this video I will show you step by step how to fix a seized reel. If you are fixing a seized reel and need Penn reel repair tutorial like this will help you as I walk you through what to do when your reel breaks. Reel fixing is a pain, and sadly these issues occur more often than you would think. But it's ok; the process isn't that hard and I can take you through it very easily. If you need to fix a broken reel that won't crank I assure you the issue is an easy fix. You just need to order the parts I cover in this video and then replace them following my instructions.

Man I appreciate that, thank you! I ordered them from ereplacementparts.com and they did a good job with everything they did for me... but be forewarned there is a run on parts for Penn reels. it took sixth months for them to ship.

@@StanleyOrchard Excellent job on the overview of the reel rebuild. If I may recommend, I get my parts from www.mysticparts.com/ and have had very good service. As you say, some parts are harder to come by, but they have a lot, are quick to ship, and one time had a part error they were quick to correct it once I notified them. I've rebuild many reels with parts from them. They also have reel schematics, so you can have the tear-down on a screen while you're knuckles deep in a reel.

Oh man... the pile of reels I have left unrepaired lol. It took a few to get to this point! And I'm not even good. I can just replace pieces in succession.
Do you do work on the rods or know someone that does. I have a question, and for once, google can not answer the question

I am afraid I have only ever replaced rod-tip guides, that's about it. I've done the guts like this on a bunch of spinning rods but my knowledge of rod/reel repair begins/ends here. That having been said I host a livestream on Tuesday nights at 6 p.m. CST over at www.youtube.com/@Outdoorslivecrew and that is a great place to get questions like this answered. Lot's of good people willing to help out.

Good call... this reel actually had some issues with the case. I fixed it on camera for the video but the parts were for a different reel. You are right though; i would advise cleaning it up and greasing with fresh grease.
