Very helpful--especially the winding direction. The spring on my leash didn't break, but the end of it had bent and popped out of the little groove it's supposed to be in. Got it fixed and working again.

@@drlest717 Unfortunately mine broke again, so I ended up buying a retractable dog leash from Harbor Freight for like 5 or 6 bucks. It's working out better than the one from my old one from the Dollar Store, and it cost less!

Funny thing ab when you said watch out with the spring inside… it was too late when u said it and it scared everything out of me 👍🏼 I should’ve just watched first.

I wish I could take a pic!!!! I have one for anyone so the cool on mine broke but half way so the tip is still there it’s supposed to be a small circular shape not straight across the inside of the coil thing thank you 🙏🏼 instead of buying a new one fixed this one ☝️

Wash the leash cord and spray it down with dry silicone lube. Makes It very smooth

OMG....I was actually able to repair it....well, sort of. Mine didn't have the screws to get into the lease, but I still popped it open. I don't care if it only lasts ONE week, I fixed it myself and now know how it works.

Mines got no screws visible anywhere. Its the same shape but no screws.

Joey, fixed my dog's leash. Nice step-by-step straight forward process. God bless you! My leash gets another life and there's less waste and stuff going to the dump. 👍🫡

A good, informative video but I couldn't even open the case on mine. It didn't have screws, it was just two plastic sides glued together. The "Uhomely" brand dog lead gets poor reviews anyway so I just chucked mine.

You have to pry it open, there’s double Ended screws inside.

My 1st attempt did the same, I just retwisted the spring once more and now I fixes mine, works great 👍

Put it in the bin never use one of these there not safe
