    This is the best step-by-step explanation. I liked that it shows both the new and the old parts. Mine just didn't look right (other than being old and leaking) until I actually stopped and examined the parts. Also, the name and number of the parts package you bought was so helpful. Thank you so much for your effort in putting this together for those of us like me who gets scared at the prospect of this kind of job. It also helped steer me in the right direction in buying handles too.

    Excellent video. In my case getting the set screw out was NOT easy. It got badly stripped by various Alan keys. After a day of trying different methods to no avail, and as a last effort before drilling the screw out, I decided to try gently hammering a Torx bit into the set screw, that with plenty of force got the darn set screw to move. Felt like the end of a marathon :). Now, heading to Homedepot to get a new cartridge, set screw, and washer. Thanks for posting this video.

    I have really, really hard water and this fix needed to take place for the last couple of years but hubby had cancer and I didn't think to check youtube. I thought that I would have to go under sink, etc and didn't realize, with tutorials, how easy it would be. Back to hard water... is there any lubricant or unlock-type spray that I can place where 3/32 allen wrench goes??? I don't want to strip that bugger when I put the little hex wrench.

    Can you comment on how to best align the cartridge to make sure it makes a 1/4 turn on both the hot and cold water. How to place that extra plastic piece in the cartridge

  • @BusyBeeLiving

    @BusyBeeLiving

    2 жыл бұрын

    The cartridge has little tags that will help you align it to the base so that the handle will sit correctly. Then on mine the extra plastic piece that stops the handle from completely rotating sides into the front (it is a perfect fit so it should slide into the proper place) Hopefully, this helps!

  • @valeries7885
    @valeries78854 ай бұрын

    Plumber said I need a new faucet because you cannot see the name of the faucet to get parts for the faucet drip. That seems like excess for a leaking faucet...It has similar spacing as in your video.

  • @BusyBeeLiving

    You could open up the handle and see if you can make out a part number on the cartridge. Sometimes they put it on the brass.

  • @funstuffonthenet5573

    RP25513-3 isn't universal I assume. One would need to take it apart first to identify what kind of replacement part to buy? Or can you just buy a few from the hardware store. Take it apart, and return whatever parts were not a match?

  • @BusyBeeLiving

    @BusyBeeLiving

    Жыл бұрын

    This should fit deltas with this handle configuration, but I do find it easier to buy extra and return what I don't need, that way I'm not running to the store mid project. Especially when I do a plumbing fix.

  • @BusyBeeLiving

    2 жыл бұрын

    They should be universal for the delta bathroom faucets, but I did hear that some of the older models actually had a specific left and right cartridge that was slightly different. You should be good but I would recommend calling delta to double check. The number is 1.800.345.3358
