I'm just setting out on my elegance renewal, and I would LOVE it if you would make some videos on how us plus sized girls can also be elegant. I find that most "plus size" advice is geared toward ladies around size 12-14, but what about us ladies who might be 22/24 or 26/28? We would also love to know where to shop, what to buy, and how to dress our bodies as they are now-- whether we are actively working on them or not. The rules for thinner women may not apply for us (small accessories, or stripes or certain fabrics/cuts). I don't plan to stay this size forever, but I would love to be elegant as I am, no matter my size. Can you help? :)

I agree, you don't need to have a lot of money to live elegantly. Taking care of your skin, hair, wearing timeless clothes that suit your body and personal colouring. Taking care of your home and keeping it clean and organized. Choosing kindness and setting boundaries. The way you carry yourself and express yourself is always free. Spending time in nature and beautiful spaces. Small luxuries like baths and candles and even picking wildflowers or buying an inexpensive bouquet for your home. Choose to be happy because holding on to anger will always diminish your grace.

Great video! I’m currently in the process of levelling up how I spend my past time and this is what I decided to do: - become better read: visiting libraries more often, read 10 pages every night, join a book club - classical music: I joined the local classical choir, rehearsing weekly, performing 2-3 a year - arts: visiting museums and art galleries, attending meet the artist events, little bit of painting and drawing following free online classes I think getting involved with charities and nonprofits are also a very elegant way to spend pastime, eg volunteering or organising fundraisers doesn’t really cost anything. All of these are free or have a very low minimal cost.

This is so true! I grew up in a hardworking but lower-income family. However, my parents taught us proper table manners and made sure that we looked and acted appropriately. Respect and manners are free! In the U.S., you can find higher quality clothing at yard sales or at thrift stores and the basics never go out of style. If you want to level-up your education, besides KZread, many well-respected universities (like Harvard) offer free online classes.

Small things matter-do a home mani pedi, watch videos on how to enter/exit a car gracefully, tweak your makeup application, declutter and clean the house, use nice things you already own instead of saving them, use free online foreign language sites to begin learning a new language, watch youtube lectures by Ivy League professors in history, literature, etc. Also, while this isn’t free, it is cheap: find thrift stores near affluent areas; you can often find nice crystal and silver items there.

The essence of elegance is not wealth or expensive things. It is, simply, kindness and good manners. Graciousness. And it costs NOTHING. We needn't buy anything. Stand up straight, look people in the eye, and smile. My mom taught me that. She came from a poor but happy family. And she was right.

Maybe reframe it as learning from other people's unelegant behaviour such as - I don't want to behave in a restaurant like they are. I don't want to interact with a sales assistant like they are, I don't want to talk to my kids like they do. I don't want to drive in the same dangerous way that they do. Recognise unelegant / unhealthy / dangerous behaviour in others and learn from it. Also look out for people and behaviours that you do like and adopt those ways.

Money isn't necessary for the internal work, but it certainly is for the external work of refining your image (a more flattering haircut, getting your teeth fixed, refining your wardrobe, etc.). As we all know, money does ease the way for everything but money itself cannot buy elegance, just the image of it. I appreciate that, even after 1 million + subscribers, Anna still caters her content to the average viewer, those of us who don't have an extreme amount of wealth but who are interested in upgrading ourselves for a variety of reasons

All the points made are spot on. Yesterday, I was with two colleagues and we were discussing a meeting that another colleague had hosted. Someone pointed out that they always thought the meeting host had “come from old money” because he was always so well spoken, well groomed and carried himself so professionally. I happen to know that he came from very humble beginnings and there is no old money in his family. He simply made the most of what he has and applied all of these suggestions. 🌺

In Chicagoland, there are free days at museums. If you are on a low income, you can get into most museums for free of low cost, it's called "Museums for All". Also... Don't forget higher end thrift stores/consignment shops. I've gotten Coach bags that usually cost $250+ for $50! And KZread is my BFF! Soooooo many videos on how to apply makeup. Soooooo many videos on dancing. Public speaking. Vocal coaching. And of course... How to be elegant. 😊

Completely agree 4:00 - It's all about the pedigree. Pedigree doesn't mean you come from familial or generational wealth. It's about the upbringing and scripting of the child that goes a long way in making it easy for the person to assimilate into society. Being Respectful, Well-mannered, Well Groomed and Well Dressed are examples of that. Pedigree and scripting is totally free, but it's hard work. Resilient parents are the key.

Many of us have china and silver passed down through our families. Take time to use what you have, don't wait for an occasion, make one!even just use one or two formal pieces at a time. Quality vintage items can be found in thrift stores as well. Small pieces of shrub, flowers can be brought in for the window ledge or table. Food can be arranged beautifully. Pay attention to how they style magazine or restaurant dishes. Take inspiration from that.

This is 💯 True. I often think of myself as a bit of a mess and quite critical of my outfits, so would never consider myself as elegant. Here's the reality; how I'm perceived by others and have been told this by many people... I'm so graceful, elegant, well spoken and confident. Plus always well put together 😅 I'm always shocked to hear this. I don't have money, but I have manners, kindness, understanding, patience and well groomed. Having luxury items, expensive clothes etc have no connection to elegance. I can think of plenty of celebrities that have tons of money but lack grace, elegance and class.

You need to be in a safe space for sure, but you don’t need to be rich. It was too long that I didn’t have a safe place to breathe and assess my life, actions and the way I carry myself. In a toxic, crowded environment or scrounging to survive, elegance can’t take priority. There are more important things like survival and I was really hard on myself when I wasn’t in the position to become what I perceived as elegant. Go easy on yourself if you’ve been through the ringer and aren’t your own ideal yet. We are just human beings in a crazy world. Take a leap of faith out of your comfort zone! And accept that it’s okay to just be, and that alone is an accomplishment.

I centred all my financial resources into education. I believe that well-educated people are more easily welcome in the affluent community. Other than that, I’m trying to acquire the manners, which don’t cost any money, as you mentioned. Also, I try to shop from boutiques whose items look and feel expensive, usually “inspired” by classic brand design but do not scream brand names all over. I think elegance comes first, money will already be attracted to that certain lifestyle.

Hello, I love your elegance and topics, maybe can you talk about how men can be elegant in a masculine manner of course? It would be interesting hearing your perspective on that topic!

So true my mom taught it's how you present yourself and money doesn't mean you're classy because of riches.I was raised in a middle class family.
