Some Japanese art terms:
線画 (senga) = lineart
塗り (nuri) = painting
水彩 (suisai) = watercolor
厚塗り (atsunuri) = thick painting (I think of this as 'paintover')
アニメ塗り (anime nuri) = anime painting style (aka the one you see in anime with only a single layer of shadow)
肌 (hada) = skin
髪 (kami) = hair
ハイライト = highlights
エフェクト = effects (you can find some really cool brushes with this!)

The japanese word list is godsend, thank you so much man!
love your voice, love how straightforward you are, and love the way you explain things thank you for existing
I have *no* idea why you have so few subscribers, but I expect you to blow up. This was clear and concise, very helpful, and informative, and also not information I've seen in any other of the hundreds of art videos I've watched! thanks so much!
thank you so much!! got your brushes and i love them so far! 😊
Thank you so much for this!! I'm still rather new to CSP so this is a lifesaver for me when it comes to finding brushes to try out!
Man japanese are truly gods of art. I've been using g-pen to do my line art so this video really helped a bunch.
Tysm for demonstrating how to use it on ur own drawing! I’m new to digital art and it it helped me to know how to use these things.
In your journey in art, there will be times where you want to find “the right brush” but something didn’t click with you and the unexpected ones may suit your vibe and style more. Experimenting is important, needless to say. Btw thank you for the Japanese terms advice!

Yes. Most of times i have to make my own brush, because its hard find the things who match with my style, expecially things like leaves, i have to make my own, because the ones over there are too detailed and my styke is more cartoonish

@@yoshaosaxofonista what do you use to draw in ,like an app or something ?
Assets really helped me to get my very few favorite brushes. It had a pencil one that I use for lining now for years, and a grass brush that you can simply use and it blends grass and it will always look pro etc. I also recommend going moreoften to the "new" section since there are a lot of great brushes too that will not show up ever in the popular tags
omg wait, aren't you that guy who was always translating kakage-sensei's streams???
Thanks for sharing this! You explained the content well. Good job!
woah this is awesome! i needed some new brushes this is cool
I had so much fun looking for brushes and trying them out, best part is a lot of the brushes are free. Thank you for taking the time to do this tutorial! Excellent video
bro you're so underrated omg, thank you recommendations for recommending this to me as a starting artist :> you got yourself a sub
hi, i'm new to clip studio paint. I bought it like 2 days ago and it's rly help me out for beginning to use the clip studio paint. Thank you very much. Also you're english is very easy to understand since i'm japanese.

TYSM I just needed a simple brush that worked well while I learned fundamentals and all of CSP brushes are super specific and pro...
Whoa! The wonders of KZread algorithm! I moved from photoshop to clip studio few days ago and actually had no idea about the assets/materials tab. Most of my PS brushes didn’t import too well so was in need of some new ones.
this helps so much thank you
You should be verified 😭 i love how ur channel revolves around the exact art style im trying to achieve, thank you!
BLESS U FOR THIS!!! my favourite thing to do is downloading assets off of the clip studio assets store instead of actually trying to improve my art, i cant wait to download hundreds of brushes i'll never touch!! jokes aside this is really helpful and i'm excited to try out new tools i didn't have access to before!
thank u so much for this guide!! u deserve a sub!!
Love the Ame drawing
Quality guide, and also, thank you for the Japanese terms! Definitely deserves a sub!
Finally a proper guide. Not those just show what, but doesn't explain why.
Amazing! thank you very much!!
So useful tysm omgggg
When I saw the Gasa Gaya Brush, my heart skipped a beat. Best lineart brush, hands down.
thx it's very useful to me
Thank you sooooo much for this because I always wondered what brushes they use. I did know about the G pen one since I actually have the pen for traditional art. It's interesting and new to learn, but I can see the appeal in using it for manga lineart.
Very underrated, this channel should have more viewers and subscribers, +1 sub
Thank you so much for this!
Great content this help me, Thanks

This is such a nice video!! Thank you so much!! I got into watching hololive in september last year and ever since then ive been wanting to draw more fanart, but the painting always looks off because of the brush textures i have 😔 Im gonna try using this one, hopefully my paintings look nicer;;; Thank you for making this!! (Also your art is sooo pretty i love it!!)

Thank you!!!!
Thanks for the Japanese terms, I've also notice how bad the translations are and I'm learning japanese but can't type Japanese. It's very helpful!
thank you mr algorythm for blessing me with this video

U got a sub
I feel like every artist should consider making the active decision to use as many different brushes as they can when they're starting out or be shown what brushes work best for what use, or what brushes are normally used in any given art style. Defining the expectation and cataloging and organizing that information and making it redily available might be extremely effective in creating a language for deciding what brushes should be applied to a work or desired style; much like how fonts art understood to all be slightly different, with different uses and associated sentiments, but still art understood at a categorical level, with the idea of different groupsing being placed under umbrellas of use and evoked meaning.
You deserve a sub from me!!! Very well made guide :3
OMGGG THANK YOU SO MUCHHHHHHHHHH TAT)/ I LOVE U
I dunno you have youtube. before this I was screenshotting brush names. thanks for the list!

One brush to rule them all
me who only uses the default brush: what an interesting video!
thanks
ever since the beginning i've been using the same watercolor brush for EVERYTHING. Everything else just feels so.. weird now xD Although im trying to try out new brushes because they really seem amazing :o
I say brush matters, sure you can do anything with default brush, but those custom brush make difference. It can make your life easier, or feel comfortable to use depending on your personal feel. But you have to master the default brush first, because the results of your drawing is depend on your skill
I have a question, can I install clip studio brushes in Photoshop where can I download good brushes for Photoshop? your videos are amazing thank you!
I only use 2 brushes, G-PEN and Spray-Soft... and its enough for me. But I do apreciate the japanese terms, I can write japanese myself but that does not mean I know whts written in there when kanjis start to cicle through.
Thank you for this awesome video! Are there similar brushes for Photoshop? If so, do you know where to find find/get them?

Hi. I am partly color blind and really struggle with shading. Imo I need to know what to do after I apply a flat color. I am unsure if shadows are the same color just darker or a completely different color.
damn reallybi download all of them 😢😢😢😢
Thanks for the japanese terms! Glad to be able to filter the subpar westoid materials. Great vid!
can we use this in photoshop??

You can see what I'm currently using in my newer videos here - kzread.info/head/PLjtSYQVL64ncNibUPu1XdFqShXq9IjUoR
trying out all the new brushes will be very hard with me drawing at a rate of 3 strokes a day
Does those brush exist in the Krita free app ?
the lazy brush even at smaller sizes keeps blending the colors :/ I'm completely new, and am just now referencing some art, and doing it mostly in black and white, but some lines, if i start at a white part, it turns gray, and if i start in white and kind of merge it into black it has like 2 colors in one stroke, its really weird :c
thank you for the video! 🙏 I have 2000 clippy points from login bonuses and a day to spend it before it expires, pray for me >
