This is perfect. Half-assing jobs will only hurt you in the long run, and make things that much harder for both you and the client. Have pride in the work you do.

Well explained I hadapool that I done a weekly service on that was perfect every Friday my help always bitched about having to drag out the cleaning equipment and I told him I would rather clean a clean pool than a filthy one any day

😂 I love it bro. Explanation #1 and #4 “They’re just an asshole”. Right on. I have had clients that they are just unsatisfied no matter what. I cut them loose. And when they leave the 1 star review I just say sorry we couldn’t meet your expectations. Everyone on the reviews will know they are a karen.

Your right. I’ve been doing pools in new York for 35 years. If you do good work they tell a few people. But if you do bad work they tell 10.

If I might add, be CONSISTENT, especially with time and days you service the client. Stay at least 15-20 minutes per service and stop dashing. Our number 1 complaint from new clients is the old guy shows up whenever!

They love it when they can set their watch by your schedule. Sometimes you will find a lock on the gate you never saw before. When you knock on the door they are surpised and say I forgot today was Thursday, or whatever. Also they like to put the dog in when your KNOW you are coming etc. One thing about being consistent is if the weather is bad, they accept that this is your time to be there. Then when you splash and dash to avoid being a human lightning rod they won't complain. In those cases I will sit in front of the client's house for 10 mins with the truck lights on before I engage in splash and dash, so at least I am giving them some of my time. I've gotten accounts many times becuase they say "I never see him, I don't even know when he shows up" even if the pool looks good.
