Thanks for this tutorial and explanation, I can see lots of possibilities. Great work! However, I feel like with the ocean example it would be the opposite ... By that I mean, for the wide shot, the sound should be more central. As the viewer, the ocean waves would be directional coming from a single point (basically) since you are so far away from the sound source. Whereas, with the view from the boat, the sounds of the ocean would be all around you, with waves splashing along all sides of boat. (And if you wanted to get really technical, with the majority of the sound coming from your right as that is where the front of the boat would be since you are looking at the port side.)

I had no idea this was an option. Fascinating to learn. Can this be used inside Premiere Pro? Also, I‘m listening with my Airpods Pro, but not getting the 360 effect I get with some movies/TV. Is there a way to utilize the AirPodPros to really tap into that? And…can the results be heard through an upload to KZread?
