OUR BIG PROJECT Part II: Behind the Scenes of Making an eBook
As full time vanlifers, we are always challenging ourselves to develop new ways of generating income so we can travel and work remotely. Between our chai company (Chaiwala Chai), KZread channel and podcast we certainly have our days full but when you all started asking us to put together a recipe book with our favourite plant based food we couldn't say no!! Excited to share 52 vegan recipes with you in our eBook titled "Weekday Whip Ups." Can I get a WOOT WOOT?!?!

Eamon & Bec NO BLACK PEPPER! So sorry, it looks like some rust chards dropped on the curry. Also, what proportion of your recipes include tofu? I know you cook with it and I don't "get" to eat it. Lots of love to you guys✨💕💖💕✨

Rose thanks for voting with me on this one Rose!! Hmm very few are with tofu (maybe 3 out of 52).. the book is mostly focused on whole food meals ❤️

Haha I totaaalllly agree!! We both LOVE black pepper but I had a hard time convincing him it doesn’t look good in photos as a garnish! Thank you for the love and encouragement Marie ❤️😘
Loved the intro with the disappearing papers in the window ... Going... going ... GONE!!! We know you love the pepper Eamon but Bec's right, no pepper in the photo ... BTW, the pics are beautiful. This cookbook wasn't done in two weeks. You have spent years learning the techniques and base recipes, that let you put together a final project in two weeks. Don't forget your backstory when you are promoting the new book.

Yes, absolutely true!! We have spent years learning how to cook vegan and these staple dishes have certainly been perfected over that time 😊. On top of that, we are far from DONE this project lol!!

Why not publish a print version? Through Amazon or something

Yes, I like a hard copy to look at and refer to when cooking. E books are ok, but if your tablet dies or times out or if you change it you have the hassle of trying to transfer the ebook to your new tablet etc etc.

I was one of those that suggested a thrift store haul for props - ie Value Village. I shop my local one all the time and have an amazing collection of one of a kind kitchen pieces - bowls, etc. Good on you for scouting out some fun finds! I love the joy of the "hunt" at these places and I always seem to have some items to donate so no guilt for me for bringing things home. I've also found some amazing fabrics which I will be making projects with in the winter months. Great job, you two!
After watching so many of Eamon’s freestyle Friday’s I’m so down for this ebook, I love simple and delicious vegan cooking, straight to business on both flavour and time, love it keep up the good work guys !

Your book sounds awesome! If you want the overcast no-shadow effect on a sunny day use sheer curtains, bunched or layered between the food and the light source. Then on the opposite side of the light source use a large sheet of white cardboard to bounce the light back onto the food and diffuse the shadows more. Good luck!

Needs something on top but maybe coriander rather than black pepper or some finely chopped green chilli.

In order to have a softer light, lay a white sheet between the subject and your light source. To unclog shadows too hard, I use a decoroplast panel. Alluminium is also a very good light reflector.

I actually did it on amazon a few months ago and have been shocked at how easy it was. Was able to have digital and print versions. Granted, it wasn’t a book color photos, so not sure how that would differ.

@@eamonandbec Don't let KDP just automatically format your book for a print version. My suggestions are to do a full bleed and choose a size and shape that will showcase your photos. Be sure and include an about page in all versions where you can pitch your other products (YT, Chaiwalachai.com, pod cast, etc). I can't wait to see this book!
