Hey brother, good to see u still bumping away and giving great knowledge for new and even older bassheads,

  • @ixionn563

Another reason not to disconnect cables when your system is powered on, in this case the RCA cables. If you disconnect the RCA cables between an amp and head unit when the system is powered up you can blow a protection fuse (which is soldered deep inside the head unit) causing your RCA outputs to sound bad and not work correctly. I highly suggest always powering off the system before messing with the RCAs (you can hold the power button on the head unit instead of killing the car). If you have a head unit that seems to cause alternator whine in your system, this easily could have been the cause. This issue can be fixed but it involves full disassembly of the head unit and a soldering job. And just for anyone who may want to know, the original purpose of this RCA pre out fuse had to do with older amplifier models and even some still made. It was common that if the amplifier was not grounded properly, it would instead end up grounding itself through the RCA cables and head unit. Huge hazard if you think about how absolutely tiny the wires inside an RCA cable are. The fuse is meant to blow before a potential fire hazard can take place in the vehicle. Only learned this not long ago, so I hope it helps save someone from messing up their head unit, especially with some costing $200+. Such an easy mistake to make and it's not very well known. Love the channel and build series Parker!

How come one bass 8k is elevated and the other isn't? I strongly suggest adding anti vibration rubber mounts to both amps if not to an amp rack as well to the amps on that rack. Yes Bass line is supposed to handle vibration better, and they do, but at these numbers it's not worth not spending $5 on RUBBER chair feet donuts at the very least. Lmk if you'd like to see how I set mine up as I do same vibration (dBs) with my two 15s using same amps set-up as you.

@@Chris-B-Bassin In theory, it shouldn't matter where you match them out (at high output or otherwise), as matched is still matched, regardless. I suppose at higher outputs you could do more in the concept of getting it perfectly matched, but when you consider the risk vs reward of doing so at higher power, it likely wouldn't even be worth it to worry about. If your system is putting out anything more than 2k watts, I wouldn't recommend gain matching at anything over 40% of max output, as it becomes more potentially dangerous (to you or your system) than it would be of any benefit.
