Hot oil splashed all down the side of my face while cooking. My skin bubbled up and started to blister. I used aloe, however it still felt like my face was on fire. I used lavender oil, for five seconds it stung horribly---and then the pain completely went away! For two weeks I used aloe and lavender oil and kept the area covered. My face healed without leaving any scars or discoloration.

Did you applied the lavender oil directly to the skin? I'm confused because I buy it and it says on the direction do not use directly on skin.

Initially I did apply it directly to the skin by itself. However, at the time I had aloe gel on the burn prior to applying. Lavender oil is one of three essential oils I have been able to apply to my skin directly without any irritation or adverse affects. I did a skin patch test prior to applying them to my face, however. On the DoTerra website- there are some oils that you can apply directly to your skin topically (like half a drop to on drop).

I did not go to the doctor. There was no infection or red streaks indicating an infection, so I used home remedies. However, if the burn had began to get infected, or looked like it was not healing well I definitely would have sought medical attention. Keeping it covered and safe from infection changing the bandage daily and in the end using a silicone bandage to prevent an hypertrophy in scarring worked well for me. However, if you are burned you should seek medical attention.

Literally burned my front side yesterday could barely sleep because of the pain 😢

I burned my palm with a heat gun running at roughly 500 F. I followed your advice and bathed it in peppermint oil, and quickly found relief from the burning sensation. I slept that night with lavender oil applied to a bandage, and the next day I had no signs of the burn!

July 11 2024 writing this at 1 p.m. : I did not have aloe Vera gel, but I did have both Peppermint and Lavender essential oil. I applied them both to middle 3 fingers burned during cooking. Approximately 3 drops each. I burned my fingers at at 11 a.m., applied mixture of essential oil by 12 p.m. and by 1 p.m. pain had subsided and no blisters. Thank you Dr Axe!!!!!

Just buy an aloe vera plant and use the gel straight from the plant. Raw honey mixed approximately 50:50 with the aloe gel is an excellent burn dressing. Good to know about the peppermint and lavender essential oils as well. Than you Dr. Axe. Good video.

OMG the best recommendation thus far. I mixed a couple of drops of both oils into some aloe Vera juice. The pain came back for a quick minute but quickly subsided. And the blister that was forming instantly chilled out. I did run cold water over it for about 20 minutes 1st. I tried some arnica gel but the pain and throbbing didn’t stop until I made this concoction. ♥️ Dr. axe

Just buy a burn heal at the nearest Pokemon center.

I BURNED THE SIDE OF MY WRIST ON A HOT POT. THERE WAS BURNING, BLISTERING, & I'M SURE POSSIBLE INFECTION. I PUT COCONUT OIL AND LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL ON THE BURN. THE BURNING WENT AWAY. AFTER A FEW DAYS, THE SCARRING IS LESS NOTICED. MY PLAN THIS YEAR, IS TO BECOME MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT ESSENTIAL OILS. THEY WORK😀

It works a treat. I’ve tried it. I make owie spray for everything, the burn is painless in 5 mins. Frank, lavender and teatree with fractionated coconut oil.

Peppermint and lavender oil are deff supreme at relieving redness. But instead of Aloe or coconut oil which dont seem to absorb very well Ive always found standard skin lotion to work beautifully! I use natures gate which is free of harmful chemicals but any skin lotion works better than Aloe. Guys this is coming from a super mega white guy who gets burned every summer since childhood. I ditched the Aloe a long time ago when I realized regular skin lotion kept the skin hydrated for longer periods of time which stops the itching. It also keeps your skin from peeling during the day when you have to be seen by other people. Use a sponge or loofa each time u shower to scrape off dead skin cells. Reapply lotion after every shower. Great vid by the way Dr Axe.

A boiling pot of water fell on me yesterday. I did seek medical attention, was told I have second degree burns. I’m into the natural healing. I’m wondering upon cleaning & changing gaze; should I use the Aloe Vera or Lavender Oil?

Hello Dr. Josh Axe. I got burn from an ice pack and it did heal. I'm an black American, lady with a brown skin tone. The burn left me with dark pigment spots on my skin, with a slight lighter color on inside of burn. Is it anything that I can use to even out my skin tone. I have already purchased the h scar oil for scars. I don't care for using those bleaching creams. Thanks in advance.

Dr Axe I used Aldara cream last year to treat my Pearly Penile Papules but it left me with white burns that didn't go away and heal would these oils help me heal the white burns or would there be something else?

I don’t think you should ever apply essential oils on the skin. It literally says on any essential oils:”do not apply it on the skin as it may cause further irritation”; just use a moisturizer and the burn will eventually go away.

I used pain killer and felt pain, after that the pain went gone after a few minutes. But I suggest you use aloe vera and lavender oil which stings not that hard mine stung very hard when I used pain killer, had to wash away the pain killer. Now I used aloe vera after pain killer

when i hold a rice cooker but idk if its hot or cold this my reaction i hold a pot of it and i aint get my hands off and i slowly put and thats start what i do i just hold an ice and then i take a bath and theres a little burn

Safe to use manuka honey on a hot boiling water burn? Burned my hand from boiling water from ramen noodles few days ago. It was very red and burning at the moment and a blister. Did put my hand in the shower head cool water for a bit. It is still red. Are there any risks in smearing manuka honey over my fingers/hands to help the burn? There is a blister on one of my fingers so safe to use manuka honey even on the blister spot?

***** Dr. Axe, I had burned myself while ironing and from the tip of the iron close to the middle, my skin burned. The first thing I did was run my arm in warm water to try and clean it then I wrapped a piece of cloth around it for the night. When I woke up, it changed from being pale white, to dark purple; and it had a bubble. The whole day I just walked around and didn't touch until I took a shower and accidentally scraped it open exposing the skin under which was fleshy pink. I put some hydrogen peroxide on it (really hurt) after a three hour dance I went to getting sweaty, then I had wrraped it with and alcohol patch and tape. What do I do? It still isn't even close to healing, it basically got worse.
