Omg yes! The arm breaks are essential. I usually do one side first and then tie the other side up, go do something else for a few minutes then come back to it to let my arms recover. Another tip is to do you less dominant side first so for me J do the left side first because the right side is naturally easier so I save that side for when my arms are more tired

I’ve literally always never been able to dutch braid and have mental breakdowns LOL. But anyways I’ve tried so many videos and none of them have worked except for this! It took so many videos for it to finally click! Anyone who is looking at comments let me give you some tips because my aunt is literally a pro and this is what she gave me. 1. Start with SMALL PEICES. I’m talking small or else the braid will start far back. 2. If you want it to go straight back do as demonstrated in the video (2nd option) because I didn’t want except the fact that that was the only why it was gonna go straight back cause it looked hard BUT IT REALLY ISNT IM TELLING. 3. I know you probably don’t want to hear this but PRACTICEEEEEEEE.

  • @LaineyMarieBeauty

Thanks for the comment! I agree with you and your aunt! You definitely have to practice! That's key!! I didn't learn to dutch braid over night. At 19, I practiced infront of a mirror over and over, failing many times, every week. One day, it clicked! I hope the same for everyone reading this. HUGS!

Your hair is beautiful! I have long thick hair and ALWAYS have such a hard time doing the Dutch braid on myself! Thanks for showing us these two variations. Both look great on you, although, I think I like the ones that you did second - straight back…even though I’m sure arms will BURN doing them!

  • @meganmassey2017

I like how she combines the added piece with the piece she’s adding it to BEFORE she crosses it under. Not everyone does that. Hopefully this helps me get it. I love how she keeps repeating. I NEEEED that. So thank youuu! Anyone who doesn’t like it can just fast forward. ❤

I love the look of the ones that go straight back, but I have yet to actually be able to master those when doing my own hair. I can do the ones that run down the side because I use my mouth to old my hair so I don't have to always be holding three sections lol!

I prefer the one that goes straight back - however I think due to my age the side one will be easier to achieve. I love dutch braids and reverse french braids. They are similar I think?

Thank you for showing both ways. I have always done mine the second way you showed us. I was always wondering how women got them to the side like that. I think they are so cute.

I’m so bad at parting my hair. It’s a struggle 😂when I tell you my husband parts my hair for me, he really does! Lol

I don’t have the emotional stability to do this, I know I will have a breakdown! But I will ask my husband to do this for me! 😂

I NEVER KNEW how to do the double dutch boxer braids that go to the BACK but have always wanted to!!! I regularly do the ones that go to "the side" but they just don't do it for me. I will ONE HUNDRED PERCENT be trying this out! Thank you SO MUCH Lainey! I subscribed yesterday evening, a few videos ago lol. Request if you haven't done so already, and I'll do my best to explain: sectioning the hair into THREE sections to make three boxer braids that go to the back- one in the middle and two at the sides! 😍 I'd like to try this both as an option for a new look, and to see what kind of heartless waves/curls it would make. But I don't have a clue how to section it out, and previously didn't know how to get the braids going to the back. I suppose even demonstrating the same three sections with the option of the braids going to the side would work too 😊

Any tips on how to angle the braid backwards? I can do the braid I just can’t get it going back, it just sits behind my ear and isn’t tight!! Thanks xx

Like the braids going back rather than to the side. Easier to sleep in, put a hat on, etc. I need to perfect this to wear in deer camp!!
