How to: Duplicate Stitch Colourwork | Add Stitches of a Different Colour | Swiss Darning

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Duplicate stitch has a few different uses; it's a way to weave in ends quite invisibly on the back of stockinette stitch (or garter stitch), it's a way to fix mistakes in your knitting, and it's also a way to add decoration or a colourwork pattern to the front of stockinette stitch.
Today I'll be demonstrating the latter by adding a design onto the front of my knitted swatch using a contrasting yarn. I'll finish the video by showing how I weave in the yarn ends, including how I use duplicate stitch to do so.
Note that duplicate stitch is an 'afterthought' method, in that it is only added after the knitting is completed.
This video provides a thorough explanation and I hope it's useful to you. I also have a 'quick recap' on my channel if you want just a fast refresher :)
I hope you like the video!
