@@MrIous99 yes, there is only one way, create a partition for the size you want, and format it, in Linux, when you format it in "Disks" it will ask you the for the "File Allocation System" you want to format it to, select FAT32, unlike Ext4 and NTFS, FAT32 is supported by both Linux Distros and Windows 10, now the data in there can be accessed through both the OS's ✌️✌️

Thanks a lot. This is so far the only video that helps install and uninstall ubuntu without messing up windows boot menu. You are a saviour.

Hi, I will feel more comfortable installing Ubuntu to my PC if I hear some reviews. Is it 100% safe? Does it make Windows 10 slower? And is it faster than virtualBox? Thank you Arun! (I want to install Ubuntu because I can't work with vBox, it's so slow, you can't even open the file manager without waiting 10 secs :( )

Now this is a decent explanation of how to set up a dual boot on a singular storage solution, there are other options like booting from a VHD. However I would highly recommend to put up the disclaimer especially when you play with storage volumes: Playing with Storage parameters/options, volumes and messing with your MBR/boot settings can be dangerous and irreversible. Back up your system before modifications.

*For computers that use uefi mode, the BCD option won't work. Here is a solution* 1. After installing your Ubuntu, don't panic. Start your computer and open up the bios menu. For my HP, I had to press F10. 2. Go to system configuration and under boot options, select OS boot manager and press enter. 3. You will see two boot options Windows boot manager and Ubuntu below it 4. Move ubuntu to the top of windows boot manager using F5/F6 keys depending on your computer. 5. After, press F10 (save an exit) and select yes 6. Your computer will restart and you will be able to see the grub menu which has both ubuntu and window boot management Good luck 😊

Hi... I just discovered that mine refurbished pc had a kinda of cracked version of windows 10 pro.. And not even Ubuntu recognised my windows as nothing... I got stuck in no boot device found press any key to reboot image.. now I’m stuck in Ubuntu trial version and if I disconnect the USB I’m back on the no boot device.. could you please be so kind to help me please.... Thank you so much! Just in case, as you stated in the beginning of the video, it is necessary to install windows in legacy mode. For that you need to create a bootable usb with Rofus setting the partition scheme to MBR and disable secure boot in the bios settings. After that all of your steps work perfect.

It would be better if you mentioned you had a separate video for GPT + UEFI. This method does not work for UEFI but you can use EasyRE to convert Windows installation into a dual legacy/EFI installation, after which you could use EasyBCD to add the Linux entry.

@@AyKayGod Yes I am aware of the Grub but I wanted Windows Bootmanager like in Legacy that is configured by EasyBCD. My system is UEFI and EasyBCD is not installing because of Microsoft Restrictions. I simply followed this guide Without Configuring my BIOS. The predecessor is now Ubuntu but I am able to dual boot seamlessly with the Grub though

@@sinethembagomba2135 In UEFI Systems the Windows Bootmanager *is* efi. However, if you're very particular, convert your system to dual legacy/efi and then u can use EasyBCD. Btw what did you specify for the bootloader during installation?

Nice and easy video! The trick with EasyBCD, will it work also with Windows 7 systems? In case I want to dualboot Win7 and any Linux distro (with MBR, BIOS Legacy).

This is a good tutorial, although, it could be simplified a lot. Basically, Ubuntu already detects that you are dual booting, and it automatically makes a partition for you, and instead of using Rufus, I would recommend USB imager, since you don't need to format your USB. Hope it helps!

Can you do a tutorial for dualbooting with 2 separate drives.

its pretty much the same as the guy says. Just make sure to choose the correct drive when installing from the ubuntu usb stick.
