hey brother, buying a gallardo tomorrow, let me ask: in my manual porches ill commonly shift into neutral to coast, and sometimes i dont come to a full stop and need to shift back into 3rd or 4th... is this possible on an Egear ?

Mike H happened to me once. It was on a slight incline at a junction. Guessed I gave it too much gas, the engine bogged down & stalled. Not good when oncoming traffic was impeded

Question. I have a audi R8 V10 which could be the same engine and transmission as your gallardo? does the tips here apply to my car as well? Thanks!

When your stopped at a red light with the brake pressed your not burning the clutch. It's only engaged when you start pressing the gas pedal, you should still put it in neutral for long stops to reduce wear on the pressure plate. Also faster shifts will actually wear the clutch more because the car will actually dump the clutch on every shift instead of smoothly letting it out. If your just driving normal put it in a low setting and ease off the gas like a regular manual for best clutch life!

You’d be surprised. The faster shifts are actually better for the Gallardo. That’s why it’s always recommended to drive these in manual mode rather then auto

The car double declutches as you would, matches revs with speed and goes into gear. So at 30mph, in neutral, and select (-) gear, it would first rev the engine to about 5k revs, and engage 1st making it a very visceral experience 😜 select (+) and it will rev match 2nd.

When you are in reverse and need to go to 1st, you don't have to put it in neutral, then 1st. What you can do is from reverse just pull the + selector to 1st and the Gallardo does it for you super fast. 😜

I have been told when shifting up its good to let off the gas as you would when shifting a gated shifter.

How similar is it to the SMGs from the E46 and E60 M cars? Better, worse, same?

Unless you don't wand hard shifts. Then you can lift off and shift to make it less rough.

I do that in my car but that's because it has a manual transmission the Lamborghini has paddle shifters and no clutch pedal so if you are coasting to a stop I would assume you would be in 2nd gear and if it turns green then you just press the gas.

Vehicle Virgins just wondering how on earth you like the E-Gear Slushmatic. It is one of the most horrible transmissions, especially on the early (pre 2006) Gallardo's. It slips the clutch and as you mentioned it stalls. I bought a new 2008 Superleggera and just found that it takes too long to downshift, and didn't do what I wanted it to do, and I also drove other E-Gear Gallardo's and Murcielago's. I swapped the E-Gear to a proper 6 speed in the Superleggera and I found it to be much better. Now going from my Veyron with the Dual Clutch or any of my other supercars with dual clutch transmission to an E-Gear, especially a pre 2006 E-Gear, I find it so miserable to drive. Just out of curiosity, why did you chose the E-Gear over the proper 6 Speed?

MrTheSetter The way to make money is to know of a market that has needs, but nothing to fulfil them. Take my first company for example, it was a third party shipping company to ship items from US or UK to wherever you please. An example is that the Nike store in the US does not ship anywhere outside of America, likewise most apparel websites, to maximise profits in specific regions. You are right in saying that I definitely don't have enough time to post on youtube but In future I will try. If I do decide to make video, what cars do you want me to review. Luxury (Rolls Royce, Maybach) or Supercar (Ferrari 458, Aventador, Mclaren 650) or Hypercar (Bugatti, LaFerrari, Pagani, McLaren P1, Porsche 918)

yes. manual clutches are pretty much almost like a normal car.

Is this your only car at the moment? What happened to the M5? It must be hard to daily drive the Lambo if it's your only car but at least it's fun :)

No. They're automatics. But there are supercars that have a manual transmission as an option.

***** I drive an E60 M5 with triptronic and it does not have an idle speed. Most if not all automatics DO have an idle speed. Most if not all automated manuals (Gallardo, E60 M5) DO NOT have an idle speed, meaning they only accelerate when the pedal is pushed, no forward creeping motions at all.

It sounds like the Audi R8 in manual when about to stall. It jerks the gas to prevent it from stalling.
