The computer is used for 2 main things. The more important is to flush the EGear fluid to bleed it. As you will not be able to do this without some sort of computer (Note, it does not have to be a lambo computer) as the one I used was not. This is done very quickly. Maybe 2 minutes and its done. The second thing is to reset the clutch values. This only takes a second to do on the computer. I have not been able to find a way around using the computer for flushing the egear yet.

how do you know where to align the clutch with the flywheel? I noticed the "5" on the clutch didn't match the "5" on the flywheel. And what are the torque specs on tensioning the flywheel like you mentioned? I have to do this in a few weeks and want to make sure I've got all the info I need... Then... I've got one more question... Do those two green seal rings have the following part numbers: WHT002218 and N90111302? sorry if this is a hassle to answer
@supatony
3 жыл бұрын
When the clutch and flywheel arrive, they come with markings on them. Usually pen marks from where they were balanced at the factory. So you just need to align these when fitting. You will see i wrote on the bolts, that's the order that you tighten them. Torque to 70nm for the flywheel bolts. Let me go see what green seals you're talking about, and get back to you. If you have instagram, find me supa_tony and we can chat direct on there for more info.
@supatony

Not sure at this time on the seal part numbers. When ordering the clutch kit, these will come with it and they will be specific to your vehicle..A big tip, soak your exhaust bolrs with a lubricant like wd40 at least the day prior. Exhaust bolts are one of the biggest pains in doing this.

Hi mate, you need to either get a mobile "Euro" mechanic or take it to a shop who has the computer. It only takes a few minutes to do. You could also do a soft reset. You do that by turning your ignition to the on position, pulling in both paddles until your dash makes a sound. Then from there you can turn off the car and restart it and it will have adjusted. Google soft clutch reset gallardo.

@@vinnythehandyman hi mate, you have two options. @supatony
3 жыл бұрын
I aligned it with a piece of plastic (similar to a dowel) Just made sure it fitted both snug. You align the clutch markings with the flywheel. As these are balanced. Depending on what clutch you buy, it will have markings in different places, But should be fairly easy to work out. Just get the flywheel bolts tensioned correctly. Oh, and another one you really need to focus on is the drive shaft bolts, make sure they are tensioned correctly too when putting it all back together. Dont forget to find my instagram supa_tony and hit me up directly for any info you need. You can send me pics etc if you get stuck and I can hopefully assist you.

did you use a workshop manual for this procedure or was it just a bit of hit and miss with the tools? Im about to do mine soon and would love to have a chat as to what problems you ran into and what dos and dont do's Mines a manual so no need for calibration thank god

Hi mate. All the tools are very straight forward and only basic tools are required. I do have a copy of what "tensions" to do the bolts at. A manual car is a lot easier. The video has assisted a lot of DIY owners to change their own clutches. I go under the same name on instagram supa_tony, so hit me up with your progress when you start.
Did you use an OEM computer or aftermarket for the E gear bleeding and clutch reset?
@supatony

aftermarket. I think it was a Texa brand. I hired a European mechanic to go it, and he was there for only minutes to reset & bleed the egear that he didn't even charge me.
Great job! With the money saved you could have bought a great exhaust 🏎💨

Agreed. But the original is modified to the perfect sound that i want. Now i don't want to change it as i love the rumble too much 😉🙂
Well that was an awesome job. Mine is an 04 manual so I'm wondering why a computer is needed to reset the clutch? Also, how many KMS on your car. I'm wondering why your slave and throw out bearing was leaking so badly. These seem to be a big ticket item to purchase.

Hi mate. The computer is used to reset the clutch position as well, so you know how much you have left etc. Mine has done 50k and yes, that throwout bearing looked a little yuck. The new ones are much cheaper and last a lot longer than the old styled ones. Hit me up if you're in Australia and need parts at the right price.

@supatony

Not sure at this time on the seal part numbers. When ordering the clutch kit, these will come with it and they will be specific to your vehicle..A big tip, soak your exhaust bolrs with a lubricant like wd40 at least the day prior. Exhaust bolts are one of the biggest pains in doing this.

supatony thanks for answering. I’m getting one of those Kevlar clutches from hi tech exotic. I think I’ll call the nearest dealer and have them send me the full list of parts and I’ll double check that my lists are correct and add anything if it’s missing. Thanks again though and your video is a great resource along with Tavarish’s multiple videos with his clutch job. It’s proving difficult to get all the details from these multiple resources into one picture. I think maybe I’ll make a video of my clutch replacement project and I’ll include the part list in the bio
have you thought about a kevlar clutch?
@supatony

Genuine OEM from Lamborghini (I would strongly advise shopping around between the dealers for the best price) You will need the Clutch kit with throwout bearing. Alternatively, you use a clutch from Hi Tech Exotics clutch. More money, but it will last longer. I went the OEM original route and it has been great.
Me again 😂. Did u need the clutch alignment tool and if not, did u just align it using the dowel? What do I need to know
@supatony

That’s why Lamborghini labour costs cross 1200 bucks on yearly service.

First time for anything is SLOW. I took my time and it took about 10 hours to have the clutch out, and it went together faster though. So took me 3 days in total. Although I know now I could do it in half that time. The quotes I had for doing it were about 10k here in Australia. Now, I have found a special Ex Lambo mechanic who can do this in ONE day, so in the future I am going to use him. And he will charge about 3k. But you really need to do your own work on these cars.
