Never thought I'd be watching one of these videos but I do have an interview coming up and so here I am.

My mom made me wear a dress and some big coverup jacket that made me look like some grandma. I did not hear back from target after that interview. I blame my being overdressed.

It's really important that you get comfortable with smart clothes well in advance of buying (yes buy it yourself) a staple interview suit/outfit with maybe a summer version and a winter version in your wardrobe. You have to feel comfortable in it to look like you own your life when you start to talk.

Nice Video clip! Excuse me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you researched - Dinanlinson Face Blossoming Approach (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for revealing the secret to master interviews and get the job minus the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my buddy at last got excellent results with it.

The interview starts as soon as you walk through the building doors, dress to impress! I wear a two piece skirt suit (black) basic makeup, manicured nails (French or nude), minimal and simple jewelry. Also, nude pantyhose ladies! I also agree with kitten heels too. It’s worked for me!

I love your channel and agree with the advice given here. I would add, nude hosiery for the women (I know it's stylish to go without, but you never know, your interviewer may judge you for it!), and I like to wear a vintage brooch in good shape, too, that's just me. I always wear one that belonged to one of my grandmothers for good luck!

Great tips. First impressions are important. Your interviewer knows little to nothing about you so they look at everything about you from what you wear, your body language and of course, your education and experience.

I litteraly went shopping late last night for an interview outfit. I spent £30 for a decent set. A blazer (£28 but got at half price), nice semi matching blouse (£16 but got at half price), and some matching toned trousers(£18 but got at half price). And am wearing nice beige leather brogues (?) as my whole outfit is beige and white. I’m going for a job in an army base jr rank mess hall. Hope it goes well on Thursday 🤞 can’t forget my mask

I think it highly depends on the position. A mechanic might not need to wear a suit to an interview but someone interviewing for an CEO Executive Assistant position might need to wear a little higher heels since she needs to prove excellent standing

Actually for an executive woman is recommended that her heels are no taller than 8 cm.

I always tide up my hair because i have curly hair and no matter what i do if i let it loose it gets messy.. And now you recommend to let it loose hahaha

It would look ridiculous if you go in a suit while applying for a job as a surfing instructor, the same way as it would be weird to dress to casual for a job in a old school finance firm

TIP……Hosiery/Stocking and I really don’t care if its 95 degrees outside right after the interview you can take them off. I was helping interview people once and the H/R head said to me “I do not hire ladies with bare legs”. She told me they don’t know if stocking are mandatory or not to wear at this company. It’s an old fashioned mind frame, but I do it when I have interviews to go on. Retail not so much. I love the advice you give.

Hi Linda, do you have any tips for people who go for an interview for a creative position? I am a graphic designer and I never know what's the best way to dress for an interview. I feel like if I dress as formal as you have described in this video it will look a bit inappropriate. Is it okay to show your style at an interview for a creative position but still dress a bit more formal then normally? For example, a light colour blazer, a white t-shirt, black jeans (not ripped) and clean trainers? Are jeans and trainers okay to wear anyway for a creative position interview?

Show your creativity in your outfit. Basically, it can depend on dress codes, but bright colors and complementing patterns may be used to really show off your creativity. Have fun with your outfits. If you can add some flair while still looking professional, it may even set you above the other applicants. Rooting for you!

I have a interview for Lab technician in a paint factory, I'm supposed to dress casually. I think I'll go with a white collared polo & grey or black slacks/dress pants & black flats 🙏🏽. Hair will be in a neat black coloured hair cover. (I'm Muslim). Peach colored eyeshadow, mascara. & a thin leathered watch ⌚ . Hope I end up getting it 🧍🏽‍♀️✋🏽.

it depends on the job you're going for. for supermarkets or things such as the mcdonalds, it doesnt matter, but for an office job, I'd wear long sleeves

If your hair is short I recommend just getting a head band and doing a puff that looks slick and neat. If your hair is longer I would go for the low point tail.👍🏾

I wore dress pants and blazer with heels, and my sis said to dress down because i wasnt going for a CEO position. Does it depend on the job Or position? I think it's okay. But, to feel comfortable myself? I prefer to wear something different on the second interview. But, that's my opinion and make me feel more confident and comfortable

Well you can tell this is pre-covid. Who goes into the office for an interview? All interviews are done via Teams or Zoom so don't really have to worry about the shoes. Also, I think it is important to know the company and the audience. Most tech companies are very relaxed in their dress. Anyways, good tips all the same.

What should young guys do about longer length hair. Such as Kurt Cobain style? My son is reluctant to have it cut ..and should he wear white shirtvwith cufflinks or ordinary cuff.

I agree not all women can freely let their hair down. I have way too long hair and I cant leave them like that. I have to have a bun. And, moreover it all depends how comfortable we are in that style.
