Such a refreshing video on how to understand form by breaking down everything to it's aesthetic simplicity. I'm currently teaching portrait drawing and my students want to get straight into the details of the facial features, but I keep trying to reiterate that if they don't understand how to break down a basic geometric form into a modified geometric form, their portraits will inevitably be unsuccessful.

Creativity in the truest sense of the word. Thank you for the explanation

Another amazing lesson thank you for sharing it's good to know and reaffirm what I myself have been doing is the correct way.

Very informative and yet simple to understand. I always prefered to start with a box rather than a circle, which is the common method. Much eadier to see strait lines and it also helps with perspective. BTW, when is your book coming out?? 😊

Some people have a way harder time being artists because they can't see. And some people don't even have anything in their head so they can't draw from imagination aphantasia I think it's called. Some people never learn how to see properly or it takes them a very long time. I heard drawing on the right side of the brain. Everybody recommends that book
