Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This is a video showing how I approach building the basic construction of a wide variety of mammals. I will make "How-to Draw" specific animal videos in the future, going into more indepth detail.

Even when you just had the main outlines, I guessed that the three drawings were of 1) a baboon or ape, 2) a cat, and 3) a horse. I was pretty much spot on. If you'd lived 200 years ago, you might have been a Darwin with that realization! Thanks for showing. I keep learning from your videos!
OMFG. This is why I was screwing up. I kept on drawing from my imagination without studying the anatomy of the actual animal. I always drew limbs the same way for every animal, and that's why they always looked a bit "OFF." Thank you for making me realize my mistakes. :) REFERENCE TIME!!! :D
There are plenty of Artists in the world, but everyone dont know how to teach their experience to others. You are the best i ever seen. I dont know even how to hold the pencil, After watching your videos i can draw human poses with 2 mins. Thank god i found you... Keep your service....

Are you still drawing ? :)
Not the easiest way to master drawing i guess, especially if one doesn't have a clue what an animal's skeleton looks like, but a good way to figure our shape and proportion and build up everything else. Thumbs up.
After watching this, a feeling crosses my head that I can nail the drawing.
I loled when you added the accessory to the horse. Great vid.
It's easy to understand, easy to re-enact and even entertaining, too. Thanks for this great video!
I'm an animal artist trying to learn humans. Can I do this backwards? Can I use my proportion model for a cat to learn humans?

Thanks! I'll try that :D

Pinkstarclan That's frustrating to hear because I don't have a lot of trouble learning how to draw humans thanks to the loads of resources there are on the internet; however, there aren't that many resources to learn how to draw animals, so I'm having a really hard time at it. I envy you.

+BvousBrainSystem Depending on the animal, they have a lot of "purebred" photoshoots which are really good reference due to the high quality of the photos and emphasis on the subject. Also, learning the official breeder terms for different breeds may get you better quality reference. Fancy Show websites have thusfar been the most helpful to me for my rat/cat/dog/horse art. Of course, these tips only work for domestic animals...

Pinkstarclan I've been focusing on tigers because I thought it would be easier, but nope. I've got dozens of pictures, but never a turnaround of the same tiger under different angles, which would be so useful. I've also collected several books on how to draw animals, some were nice, but none of them is nearly as good as what we can have for humans. I'm gonna go and petition Jazza for him to make a real video on the subject, or maybe make one of these books that he does so well, to fill this void.

With animals, like humans, you don't want to study one particular subject; instead of a turnaround of /one/ tiger, look for bunch of different angles of similar tigers. Also, narrowing it down to one species of tiger can help greatly. Tigers are my favorite animals tbh. Siberian, specifically. Animals are better subjects than humans in that they don't tend to vary body-wise quite as much and don't have that many different "just standing" poses (from the same angle, at any rate). Find similarities between different tigers and compare them for a general "average" if you want. That may work! I'm faceblind as hell and use that to draw humans because what the hell are face references. But I will absolutely sign that petition.
These tutorials are awesome! You seem to know so well what you are doing, what are you, a teacher? if not, you should be. Really helpful tutorial. Thanks man.
Thank you very much for making this. I have been studying animal anatomy books but this is the first thing that made everything click. Now those books have more context. For that I am grateful.
Wonderful explanation of the anatomic structure, congratulations!
Thank you so much! I think I have never come across a more helpful source of information on drawing than you videos. You really help building a skillset with your systematic way of teaching this and that is absolutely great!
Holy, I had so many “Omg I needed this” moments in this video! Thank you so much!
Thanks for the clarification of the similiarities of the skeletal structures between species. Great video, easy to follow
You are my favorite artist! I love your work, and you're an amazing teacher.
Excellent video. Using a comparative approach to understand the skeletal system of different mammals is very helpful in learning how to draw these animals. Your teaching method is among the best I have encountered in watching various tutorials on how to learn to draw.
I must say that your videos are very wonderful! Most videos I find will be silent and show step by step, but your videos give lovely information and references! :D
Sycra I'm just like u love drawing and also u should do a series on certain animals also I like how u pointed out about how rib cage and stuff are similar
this was extreamly helpful, thank you for creating this!
Thank you, Sycra! I have some problems of drawing animals, and you solved it! Thank you! :D
Your videos have taught me so much! Thank you!
This started to help me even when I did not finish watching
This really helped me figure out proportions! Thank you! 😊
Well done! Awesome! Please do more animal drawing demos!
Sycra, you are too badass. thank you so much, I hope you never stop making videos!!!
Thank you for this very helpful video. It is recommended viewing for a Natural History Illustration course I am studying.
That's an awesome way to think of animal structures
Great video. Thanks Sycra.
Hi Sycra, This is a perfect way of explaining too! Very nice done. You look at it a very anatomic way and I love it. I Myself looked in lines as you can see in my film. But I will use your technick too in the future if I may? Hope to hear from you and kind regards, Lineke.
Excellent as usual! Thank you.
I didn't there was so much more to drawing, I did do sketches but this will really really help me!!
This is actually quite helpful thank you
Hi, great video. Could you please tell us what software you are using? What are the equipments you used for this video? Thank you very much!

beautiful as allways!
No problemo, it's pretty damn rare that I think of something i can teach a guy like you haha. thanks for all the great videos.
Thank you, this was very helpful!!
love your tuts.
This is an interesting way to go about it.
Sycra as always amazing tutorial :D Something to note is that you, like most people who aren't animal obsessed, tend to put the knees and elbows too low by instinct. When you trace off the cow you get it right, about level with the bottom of the body. The cat's knees are way too low, resulting in werewolf-type back legs. In most animals the elbows and knees are about level with the stomach line, sometimes a little higher but rarely much lower. Just something animal nerds have noticed :p.

How is it after 10 years?
thank God!finally a good animal tutorial.
wow I'm trying to learn to draw animals so I can sketch my dogs -- one is very old and I'm running out of time ----- this is amazing and HELPFUL
I like how you taught in this video in comparison to some of your other videos. In some of your older videos you would ramble on about nonesense and then finally get to the subject matter that we need to know about. Thank you, though, as you do teach decently for a KZread Tutorial, you do try your best to keep things simple as fuck, which is the best way to do things, most of it is just seeing how you do it, and trying to replicate it a bit, and learn that way. I haven't subscribed yet, but I should!

How did you learn about the form? Do you have any advice for those of us who lack the foundations of drawing?
Hey great tutorial....what brush do you use in photoshop?
i thought this video would be so confusing and be something only pro's could do, but it made perfect sense!! Thanks
Hi I tried this out and I’m only 11 years old it helped me a lot!

lol loving the top hat on the horse
Looks at his horse, his horse is amazing!
Is that Riven Phoenix's base skeleton by any chance?
aa this is really useful!
This reminds me of the scene in Tarzan where Tarzan is sad because he's not like the gorillas, but then his mother makes him understand that we're the same inside (heart for example)
This is what I was looking for
Ah, thanks for the advice! :)
