Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is a video showing how I approach building the basic construction of a wide variety of mammals. I will make "How-to Draw" specific animal videos in the future, going into more indepth detail.

    Even when you just had the main outlines, I guessed that the three drawings were of 1) a baboon or ape, 2) a cat, and 3) a horse. I was pretty much spot on. If you'd lived 200 years ago, you might have been a Darwin with that realization! Thanks for showing. I keep learning from your videos!

    OMFG. This is why I was screwing up. I kept on drawing from my imagination without studying the anatomy of the actual animal. I always drew limbs the same way for every animal, and that's why they always looked a bit "OFF." Thank you for making me realize my mistakes. :) REFERENCE TIME!!! :D

    There are plenty of Artists in the world, but everyone dont know how to teach their experience to others. You are the best i ever seen. I dont know even how to hold the pencil, After watching your videos i can draw human poses with 2 mins. Thank god i found you... Keep your service....

    Not the easiest way to master drawing i guess, especially if one doesn't have a clue what an animal's skeleton looks like, but a good way to figure our shape and proportion and build up everything else. Thumbs up.

    I'm an animal artist trying to learn humans. Can I do this backwards? Can I use my proportion model for a cat to learn humans?

    Pinkstarclan That's frustrating to hear because I don't have a lot of trouble learning how to draw humans thanks to the loads of resources there are on the internet; however, there aren't that many resources to learn how to draw animals, so I'm having a really hard time at it. I envy you.

    +BvousBrainSystem Depending on the animal, they have a lot of "purebred" photoshoots which are really good reference due to the high quality of the photos and emphasis on the subject. Also, learning the official breeder terms for different breeds may get you better quality reference. Fancy Show websites have thusfar been the most helpful to me for my rat/cat/dog/horse art. Of course, these tips only work for domestic animals...

    Pinkstarclan I've been focusing on tigers because I thought it would be easier, but nope. I've got dozens of pictures, but never a turnaround of the same tiger under different angles, which would be so useful. I've also collected several books on how to draw animals, some were nice, but none of them is nearly as good as what we can have for humans. I'm gonna go and petition Jazza for him to make a real video on the subject, or maybe make one of these books that he does so well, to fill this void.

  • @Pinkstarclan

    @Pinkstarclan

    With animals, like humans, you don't want to study one particular subject; instead of a turnaround of /one/ tiger, look for bunch of different angles of similar tigers. Also, narrowing it down to one species of tiger can help greatly. Tigers are my favorite animals tbh. Siberian, specifically. Animals are better subjects than humans in that they don't tend to vary body-wise quite as much and don't have that many different "just standing" poses (from the same angle, at any rate). Find similarities between different tigers and compare them for a general "average" if you want. That may work! I'm faceblind as hell and use that to draw humans because what the hell are face references. But I will absolutely sign that petition.

    Sycra as always amazing tutorial :D Something to note is that you, like most people who aren't animal obsessed, tend to put the knees and elbows too low by instinct. When you trace off the cow you get it right, about level with the bottom of the body. The cat's knees are way too low, resulting in werewolf-type back legs. In most animals the elbows and knees are about level with the stomach line, sometimes a little higher but rarely much lower. Just something animal nerds have noticed :p.

    I like how you taught in this video in comparison to some of your other videos. In some of your older videos you would ramble on about nonesense and then finally get to the subject matter that we need to know about. Thank you, though, as you do teach decently for a KZread Tutorial, you do try your best to keep things simple as fuck, which is the best way to do things, most of it is just seeing how you do it, and trying to replicate it a bit, and learn that way. I haven't subscribed yet, but I should!
