Thank you. I used to draw horses without all the basic stuff. When I was a teen. I just drew rom imagination and the sketches I did were really nice. But years of not doing any art, my brain was having a hard time starting that imagination engine. LOL. The basic shapes and this horse head was the perfect place to start!!

Loved horses as a girl, and found a book in drawing them, at the library maybe? Studied that book and got drawing, until I didn't need the book anymore. I don't know how to make them look realistic, and haven't drawn one in years, but the basic shapes I remember. I got frustrated trying to learn to draw at first because I was told I need to know their skeletal structure and muscles, for people, too. That's too much just starting.

I'm fine with learning to draw stuff, but it gets difficult when it's an animal you work with equally. I ride horses every week, and seeing you draw in the tutorial I was thinking of how many things would be important to add to it, different things that could be different, and I know I would do the same in my own drawing

Learning to simplify is a skill in itself. I like to play with subjects and ask myself "how much can I leave out and it still reads as the subject." Or "What if I could only use straight lines or triangles only?"

I totally understand. After drawing horses for years, I am still learning all the intricate details that go into them. I wanted to provide a base that was super simple, a foundation for artists to feel comfortable with so they can start digging deeper. I’d love a list of points you’d recommend adding for the next level horse head.

I love working on my miniatures. Work though has been super busy so I haven’t had time. It is sitting in its box, looking at me, begging me to play. So it will happen soon
