    Btw the reason why some manga panels have that chaotic panel flow is exactly for the same reason: to make it chaotic, it creates an environment that's faced pace and hard to comprehend, somewhat making it immersive

    If you study up on manga art or just story-based art in general, it's really inspiring to know how almost every detail or thing has a purpose, even if it is sometimes considered a "bad" choice. ART HAS NO RULES! 😎 Only suggestions

    The thing I like about reading manga/comic is that I control how fast or slow I move through the story according to my whims. There's no music or sound but, if you're like me who's it in for the story, the freedom to control how fast or how slow the story goes gives me satisfaction I always pay mind to.

    @@julleputte2875 yeah, but nowadays black and white comics are usually considered manga, even though it's not from Japan. But who knows, maybe this guy is from Japan. The meaning of manga is a bit muddy today, any black and white panel drawings arranged in a right to left format and published as like a book or as a book, people consider to be a manga.

    I loved the video!!! As an aspiring manga maker, I wanted to improve my panels beyond the bare basic layouts and panel in a way that made the action scenes better. But one thing that I really want a video on general storyboarding for manga, like what details should you storyboard or omit? I'm guessing you should only storyboard focus elements and important backgrounds but I would like a more detailed explanation on that.

  • @DeadlyDan

    @DeadlyDan

    Жыл бұрын

    I second that, one of my biggest struggles trying to storyboard is crossing the line in terms of details. It ends up with me wasting tons of time trying to make too detailed a storyboard instead of sketching it very roughly.

    This was SUPER helpful and exactly the basics I've been looking for for a few days lol. Most of the videos I've seen (maybe like 20 of them now?), while having very helpful tips here and there, had a basic assumption that I already knew how to do all of this - and I don't! I've never written a manga/comic before, didn't go to art school, and have very weak art skills. But I have this story in my heart that's been building and building, and I finally decided I wanted to make a comic out of it. But I've been so discouraged and overwhelmed. This was the first video that I finally felt like, "OH. I can do that!" So thank you so, so much. I know maybe for you it was just a "basics" video, but for me it was EXACTLY what I was looking for and what I needed!

    This video really helped in my paralysis on storyboarding and panels, i dont think I’m ready just yet but i learned some new stuff. I think I’m still daunted by how to size each panel, how big or small each needs to be, how much art needs to fill it, where should spears bubbles be and where should SFX’ be. I wanted to write and draw a manga for fun, cause i have a story idea and an OC that i like. Even if its just a 1 and done, its always been my dream to self publish a book or a manga. For me only, and if others like it cool. But great video, to reintegrate it helped me, just need more research i guess
