ERROR FIX: For those of you that get the "procedure not found" error when selecting "heal selection" the fix is simply to install version 2.10.14 of GIMP, which is the same version used in the video. If you have installed the newest version of GIMP (as of now 2.10.22) the plug-in will not work. Hope this helps!

I got the plugin installed using your steps and used gimp version 2.10.14 on Mac M1 but gimp hangs after I run the "Heal Selection" step

Thanks. My previous resyn plug-ins only worked through GIMP 2.10.12. These are working on 2.10.14 (this is the latest Mac release - 2.10.20 is not released yet for Mac). I can retire 2.10.12. Notes: These plug-ins are a little sensitive to where you place them. Heal selection will not work if you feather your selection (at least with too much feather)

Object removal is one function I was really hoping Gimp would do. But, the 'heal selection tool' won't work with version 2.10.32. Any suggestions without reinstalling an older version of Gimp (which seems silly to do)?

same, i noticed that the plug-in path for me had 2 entries. i followed steps in the video and made the path listed in the video as the top choice which didn't work. i reinstalled gimp and tried installing the plug-in in the newly listed path that wasn't mentioned in the video and that did not work for me either. i did notice that other sections like scrips, etc. had 2 paths listed as well. using gimp 2.10.22 btw.

@@thehobowiththegun You will have to install version 2.10.14 (the version he used in the video) and repeat the installing process of the plugin. Hope this helps!

I uninstalled 2.10.22 and downloaded 2.10.14 and it worked. 2.10.24 does not work either using my M1 mac mini.

2.10.32 also allows GIMP Resynthesizer plugin to work as I could not get it to work on MC-GIMP 2.10.22. Hope this helps

Yeah So can you please add a fix video for this with the newer gimp version or offer a different version of the plugin? Since what Viktor Solberg said is true. I don't want to de-install the newer version of gimp. I already downloaded a bunch of other add ons and I'd have to start over again.

I made the same things but I did not add the resynthesizer plugin to folders. I am using also 2.10 why its happened? Anybody knows?

Really curious as to why this works on this guy's computer when he just copies over the python files - because apparently, you have to turn them into executables, and I was really hoping this video would show a way around that or how to actually do it.

I found a work around from Matt Popovich on his video that worked for an install and a little coding. I just want to say thank you to Michael Davies for showing that there is a heal selection tool that will work. I haven't given up on Gimp just yet. lol

When I use the lasso tool and select the object and then hit enter, my selection goes away. Why is this happening?

This is really frustrating. I tried it again and now the heal functions don't show up at all.

Getting an error that says "resynthesizes_gui cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified". Anybody know how to overcome this issue?

I have an article on my website covering the subject, but the G'MIC team took down the MAC version of their plugin so it's currently not of any use.

Doesn't work, the old version of GIMP doesn't run on new Macs anymore either. Need heal select tool for new way the canvas is being drawn. The old one doesn't have matching hashes either after being downloaded, confirmed in the issues page.
