    @@CharlieFollowsI mentioned my 'hypo-mobility' on one of your videos recently. This means, for me, difficulty in certain asanas where placing my hands fully on the mat (as in downward dog or in Uttanasana) is difficult because I can't achieve a right-angle between forearm and hand. I'm exceptionally adept at getting my feet on the mat in downward dog! However, I experienced in Utthita Balasana, I have to use my toes or curl my feet out to find a comfortable position. I've wondered whether this is a condition that's been remarked on in yoga circles and, if so, there's any remedial work recommended. I've done Ashtanga yoga for c. 8 years but no teacher has ever picked up on it. btw - your videos are extremely pertinent and well-explained

    It would be helpful if you could make a video on transition between plank and down dog. Usually I feel that down dog is more effective with my feet closer in but, for plank I need to shift my feet a little further back. Thus, this transition becomes tricky.

    I feel like my feet or hands start sliding which makes it hard for me to find right alignment for downward dog, i usually end up dropping to knees kind of modified puppy. Not sure how to correct the sliding, might be a mat thing 🤷🏾‍♀️

    Do you think this pose should be avoided with diastasis recti? (I may have misspelled) I’m currently working on healing my diastasis recti (about 3 inch separation 😪) and I want to continue my yoga practice but have read online that DD should be avoided… not sure.. the pose feels fine and doesn’t hurt but the concern is the strain on the abdominals I suppose which furthers the separation.. was curious on your opinion or what you think :)

  • @CharlieFollows

    @CharlieFollows

    Hey thank you for your question. Usually I would recommend avoiding postures that stretch the abdomen, as you say to avoid further separation. I wouldn’t think Down dog would be too much of an issue but I am not an expert on this so I wouldn’t just go off what I say and would speak to someone more qualified to give you their opinion.
