Love these videos! In this case the back side disaster has eluded me for well over 30 years. I just watched this disaster video and looking forward to hammering this trick at the skate park for how ever long it takes. Since I constantly do back side power slides I'm hoping I can convert that into success. Since I have all the time in the world now that I'm done raising kids I've enjoyed these videos to learn new stuff or relearn tricks. Currently living in Sandy Utah and predominantly skating "Lone Peak Park" in Sandy. Pretty kick ass park since it has some of the aspects of the parks I skated in Southern Ca. back in the 70's! Thanks!!!

I kid started skating a few months ago. I built a $5,000 miniramp in the backyard because he was so "into it". I skated street back when I skated (2000 - not something, literally, 2000). Anyway, the only time he was impressed by my "miniramp skills" was when I hit a DISASTER. Listen to this guy. He is the best at explaining. If you make a kid, and that kid skates - DO A DISASTER. EMBRACE THE CHAOS!!

So I accidentally learned this at the skate park when I was trying to do a revert I felt my back truck catch the coping so I asked another skater what I did I showed him and he said I did a disaster which was something he struggled with so I taught him too

They used skateboard truck Lappers back then that Attached to your back truck and prevented hang ups. 💙🛹💙

I’d have to see it but make sure you’re staying leaned into the bottom of the ramp. Practice your 180 slides on flat ground to help 🛹💙🛹

I recently dislocated my shoulder getting hung up on a rock to fackie. I’ve never dislocated my shoulder before so I didn’t know if it was broken or dislocated. I ended up going to the ER and they popped it back in. My question is, did you instantly pop it back in yourself after it happen? Thanks and great video. I’m a new subscriber.

Haha, unfortunately I’ve done it many times on my lead shoulder so it seems to go back in easier now. I had to park my motorcycle in the skate shop that night bc I couldn’t keep my arm up. Sling time 💙🛹💙

Me working on FS disaster for some time now...not a single one landed so far but hopes are high. Now I hear you saying: "Don't ride in lazy!". I'm afraid i am doing just that but what does it really mean? Please elaborate, thanx a lot JB!!

You need to press on the nose to “rock in” so you clear your back truck over the coping to minimize it eliminate your risk of catching your back truck on the coping and hanging up into a slam. I have many videos on how to do this. 💙🛹💙
