I just did my DDX396 and followed your steps and it updated perfectly. Yes, it does delete all previous settings for radio stations and sound preferences, but it takes me about 15 min to go back and reset them all. Make sure your USB drive is formatted to FAT32 or it will not work as this video states exactly. I had that issue. Thanks for the guidance!

I can't get my computer does what Dean does I don't see save just says open or open folder

do you have any experience with the DNX4150BT? Mine is 1,5 but there is a 1,7 out but my system cant see the USB and i´ve tried formatting it to FAT32 and all other formats. And still it doesnt see it.

My head unit DMX7017DABS says no files when I plug it in

I went through the process of updating it and when it's finished, I go to check the system information to see if it actually updated but it's still on the same firmware and it says update beside it.

My excelon stays on the Please insert update usb. I insert usb and just stays on that screen. And also my samsung note 20 will not connect when I plug it in the USB. It says . cannot play this device Check device. Does the same thing with my samsung s10+ Can my usb plug be bad

I'm not sure if you can help me or not. I recently bought this stereo from Amazon. I had it installed; however, the usb cord was not attached. Should this have been in the box or is this an accessory and I should have purchased it seperately? Also, this stereo constantly changes to demo mode once you turn off engine. I cannot get any preset, time, or demo to switch. What would you suggest I do? Please please please help!

The USB cord was attached, it wasn't pulled out of the dash. I had to pull the cover off and *poof* there it was. I am still having the same problem. I updated the unit, per your instructions, and it's the same. When the car is shut off, it reverts back to demo mode. Nothing is saved. No FM stations, time, demo screen still comes on, and I cannot get the Sirius radio work. Does it still sound like the wires are backwards?

It would be good if all the new systems used a phone app or just use the wifi that’s built in to Connect to wifi at home.

Okay I'm already completely lost. Yours when you downloaded it gave you an option to save it. Mien did not, and told me it could not open the file. Mine downloads as a KRM file, while yours is a ROM file. Wtf? What program do I need to have to open this the way you did? I'm not finding any information exept that there "are many types of KRM" and you have to figure out which program you need in order to open it. Wtf.

Kinda same issue I’m having along with trying to proceed with the KRM file on the drive and then my unit won’t even recognize there is a flash drive in it

Any way to do this when touchscreen is not working properly.

My stereo is kenwood ddx9703s and my software version is 2.5 and I could see a latest update with 2.6 but in the instructions it says the upgrade is applicable for 2.26 and earlier. In this case how do I update the current version. I have issue with my CarPlay it's not showings maps. Please help me to fix my issues

I agree. I don’t need to update, on mine. Everything seems to be working fine since 2017 but my Edge Tuner, Monitoring screen and everything else I have in the cab that’s digital can be updated through WiFi or Hotspot. It is truly ridiculous.

NEVER do a firmware update , unless you feel it has something you absolutely need in it.
